EM_ProductionsI just dont wanna spend 400-500 dollars on A DAMN CAMERA LENS
pussyfooter400-500 for a lens isnt that much dude, people spend $5000 on their lens setups, a good 70-200 is $1500, a good 24-70 is $2000 etc just saying
A tokina 11-16 for $400 is a fucking great deal, I'd do that.
Rdwagner2400 is the lowest I would go if you want a desent lens. And it's still very cheap for a lens for video use. The lens is equally if not more important than the camera. The tokina 11-16mm is a great lens for dslr. You might want to look at the rokinon cine primes too, the 14mm is pretty nice. And when you buy lenses think of it as a long term investment. good lenses will last much longer than a camera body will because lens technology doesn't change as quickly as camera tech. I've been shooting a film for the past 2 weeks with a set of ziess cine primes for the 70s and the Cooke mini s4i primes and the older ziess lenses are still very nice to have.
DingoSeanThat said, Your cheapest bet for an adequately decent one would be the Tokina 12-24 f4. You'll probably spend about 350 on one. More zoom range, a little more distortion, softer, but the same build quality as the 11-16. A full stop slower and 150$ less.
pussyfooterThe 11-16 can be found for $400 now days.
