Hey NS. I'm looking for a decently fuel efficient vehicle that can take me to the mountain multiple times a week. I would like it to be a hatchback/wagon/SUV because I'm planning on sleeping in the car. I'm not too worried about AWD/4WD because where I am the roads are plowed early morning 95% of the time. My budget is around 3k, but I might be able to wiggle. Pretty much all I need is a typical ski mobile. Also, I don't really give a shit if its a beater.
Gotta double on this. Put a ski rack/Thule on top and then you got a bunch of room in back. Also me and my grandpa share a older ford Aerostar. I sticker bombed it. I'd post some pics if I could figure out embedding. Also I find the Aerostar to be just as good on gas as my subie (~20) and I've found it gets my up to the hill just as good when the weather isn't great.
subie wagon dude plenty of space of skis and friends, they look sweet pluse its turbocharged and awd and its a great platform to upgrade the motor which is dope, if your into cars haha like me.
Boax$3K? "Ski bum"? Get something old and Japanese for about $1000-1500 and put winter tyres on there. Spend the other $1500 on food and gear.
My current 98 Civic cost me €900 with 55K on the clock. Snow tyres on rims were €50 from a friend. It works.
Yeah cars don't really work like that in the U.S. a 98 Civic with only 55k on it is still worth Almost two grand in decent nick, I just bought a 2001 Subaru Outback with 204K and a salvage title and I think 2500 was a pretty fair price for it
