gapersarefriendsAlright NS, yeah this is a repost but I have some questions about universities. I'm going into my senior year with a GPA of 3.4 and an ACT of 32.

I really don't want to apply to any schools in the US, but it would be stupid not to.

ideally i would want to be at a school with average-above average academics and within two-three hours tops of good skiing.

in Canada i am applying to for sure UVIc, UBC, University of Calgary, Bishop's, UOttawa and maybe SFU.

What are some schools in the US that are comparable to these, with good academics and close skiing? Cheers

If you're gonna have a car, any school in Boston is within a 2-3 hour drive of some decently sized mountains in nh. You could also find some good schools in Colorado if you wanted too. You don't have Ivy league credentials but you have really good ACT scores. Just about the same GPA as I did too but my SAT scores were shit. Where are you from originally though, too lazy to look at profile and then post this.

Virginia Tech is just a stupid choice unless they have a really good program that you're specifically interested in. They're close to good rock climbing but the skiing is shit, just like all the skiing in the South.

For schools, you are a fairly strong applicant. Your ACT scores will serve you well, especially if you have some good extracurriculars to pad your application. It would be fairly pointless to recommend schools to you without knowing a little more about you besides that you like to ski. Are you interested in pre-med? Engineering? Science? The Arts (and being poor for the rest of your life)?

If skiing really is your primary focus, which is incredibly shallow and short-sighted, you're a good candidate for any school in CO, WY, and looking into some schools in CA would make sense as well.

Look into Babson in Boston for sure, it's one of the best business schools in the country and not impossible to get in to.

I was saying Virginia Tech because I am a tech fan. Geez. But Virginia Tech is a great school but not for skiing.
