ASTEVEBeing a Minnesotan, welcome to the land of Ice.............and more ice.
JAHpowLutsen has the best skiing here. Up on the north shore.
Next biggest I think would be spirit mountain.
Where are you living, the cities?
MrpancakesDuluth
MrpancakesOh shit!! Oh shit, why!?!?
JAHpowGood choice
Spirit mountain sits above duluth and lutsen is like 1 1/5-2 hrs north along lake superior.
Plus if you want to get into glades, pow, cliffs etc you can drive over to Mount Bohemia in the UP of Michigan which is like a 3-4 hr drive from there I think.
MrpancakesAww sick, I got scared with the whole bad news stuff.
JAHpowImo you are going to be living in the heart of the best skiing in the Midwest
MrpancakesOk that's great to here, for a second there I just pictured a sheet of ice...on top of more ice.
JAHpowThat whole area up there gets the "lake effect" from lake superior and generally gets better snowfall. I mean it's not going to be blower powder like out in the mountains but better than the rest of the midwest.
Down in the cities or if you go to the western part of the state it can become really icy.
