WHY THE FUCK ISN"T THERE A THREAD ON THIS


Heavily armed police have shut down Ferguson. There is a media blackout. Arresting reporters. The Missouri Militia supposedly has boots on the ground.

This is very fucked.

well, you wouldn't be the protect and serve the community type of cop if you think it is OK to go from getting assaulted to killing. Not this case particular because the facts are scattered, but in general it would be better to use a taser then murder somebody who didn't have a lethal weapon on them.

so a criminal who was beating on a cop gets killed, and you all want him to still be breathing.

Society would have been better off, but this model citizen happened to be a young black male (responsible for something like 55% of all violent crime in the US, despite making up only 6% of the population) so Al Sharpton needed to open his blabber hole, and let us all relive Watts in the 80s.

If it had been another kid who was shot, Michael Brown probably would have been out there bashing in windows and lighting cars on fire. Good fucking riddance.

Did you know that a person who is twenty feet away can advance on you at a speed that won't give you enough time to draw a sidearm, even less to holster and re-draw. That's straight from police training.

I will say again, no officer will holster their sidearm and draw a taser when in the middle of a confrontation. Especially when they are alone.

If you a violently assaulting me, I'm going to use whatever means I have to quickly and effectively end your ability to do so. Killing you is a pretty surefire way to do just that.

It's impossible to determine what was going through the mind of Wilson in the moment. As a peace officer he has the training to know what to do in such a situation. Therefore, and in light of what evidence there is, we can only assume he acted in accordance with his duty. I still do not think his actions should be labeled murderous.

the disburbing point that no indictment makes is that a black man's violent death isn't even even worth a trial. im not even talking about a verdict but a trial.

also for people saying there is an "appropriate" way to protest, to respond that is flat bullshit. i do not believe in violence and will not advocate for it. but as a community when you are constantly threatened, belittled, and violently executed, what response do you respect? calm and rational? people are only reacting the exact way they have been treated and persecuted for years.

this incident is pretty much exactly why we give cops guns. So when they are out peacefully enforcing laws, and some cock or cunt decides to get violent - we maintain the peace, and social contract.

there is no trial because officer wilson committed no crime. brown assaulted him, tried to take his gun, and charged at him. wilson did his job, he can't shoot to wound. cops are trained to shoot to kill (at least in ontario they are, can't speak to the police in MO) when they are firing their weapons

If I understand correctly, if he did his job correctly and followed procedure, it shouldn't go to trial. Obviously people are still debating that, but from a legal standpoint, there is no basis for it to go to trial.

The underlying history and relationship between the police and the community is why this has become such a huge racial issue. This thread wouldn't exist if Michael Brown was a 6'4, 300lb white kid.

If the black community continues to get butt hurt over a dead violent criminal, then yup, I won't be doing much sympathizing with them. I really don't do much sympathizing when an AN hold out gets raided and a few skinheads end up dead either. Race really doesn't have much to do with it.

I really don't think I could ever get behind any group that allows Al Sharpton to speak for it...

He was shot like twice in the vehicle. One for sure in the hand which is where they got the powder residue to prove that Brown assaulted Wilson.

His testimony said that the entire department only had like one taser and that Wilson didnt like carrying it because it was uncomfortable.

Except that I recall that one of the major justifications for shooting brown was that he "beat" the officer. People were even speculating that he had received an orbital fracture. Those pictures show maybe a slap to the face, maybe.

I'm not taking Brown's side but I do have a problem with how the whole situation was handled on both sides. The cops could have handled it better and SOME of the protesters could have handled it better (many did handle themselves just fine but seem to be lumped in with the FEW that were responsible for the looting).

I also have a problem with the conflicting autopsy reports. Oh well, we will never know exactly what happened but I hope we can learn from this.

Off subject, again, but that doesn't show jail time for marijuana possession or use, which is even more wacked out.

I know that black people get a bad rub when it comes to law enforcement, but this case is not a good one to use.

This is an apples to oranges comparison.

White people still get arrested a lot more; for everything.

Also, Rudy Giuliani stated that 93% of blacks killed are by other blacks. Where is the Reverend Sharpton to decry this?

Also, cops get killed every week. I can think of 3 incidents at least where police have been ambushed and killed responding to calls in the last year. The police have a very dangerous world out there, and we are usually not aware of just how bad it is.

Ive been slapped a few times, never had a bruise from it. And it doesnt even matter, wilson could have not been hit at all. Brown still went for his gun, that shows intent to kill the officer

he was carrying mace, but brown was attacking him through his driver side window and he had already been struck a few times and he felt that if reached for the mace he would be struck again ( he would have to use his hand guarding his face to grab the mace) and with both of browns hands inside the car he didnt know if he could of properly sprayed him, he also mentioned that he had contacts in, so if any mace got on him he would of been fucked.
