N.L.before the rocker snowboards came out, only ill ass snowboarders did sick presses. than everyone started pressing shit out easy with the new snowboard tech and people said it made it too easy. prior to that there were ill ass shredders like lucas magoon that were grime steezy on regular camber boards.
in my opinion, freestyle jibbing has yet to "evolutionize", but we are getting some buttery planks that are shredable
This I agree with. The farther you go back the stiffer the boards were and everything was cambered. I still ride regular camber and sometimes if I'm on one of my stiffer decks I'm struggling to get a decent press where as riding on a reverse you can ride flat base and just lift up a foot sometimes.
Not mad though. I could choose to ride one of those boards but I like something that can hold a big edge on big jumps and dropping lines.
Maybe I'll try and buy something in the middle since I pretty much just stay in the park and won;t have any XL jumps at the mountain I'm at in the states.
The advantage for boarding is that you're leaning side to side in your bindings where you have a lot of room to flex and get out there. On skis you're trying to move lean forward and backward in your boots which are already tight and not really flexi. Def makes it harder to get that lean out and get your skis pressed well. Would be interested to see where ski boot technology goes as much as the skis themselves.
