snobunnytwo years to get your residency from what I've seen-- its kind of a tricky situation for some, though.
For instance, if you attend Montana State University, you are required to live in the dorms as a freshman and sophomore. Also, to live in the dorms you must be a full time student. You can't be a full time student and gain residency. So they basically make it impossible.
If you were a junior or senior at MSU you could get your residency by living off campus and attending part time for two years. You would need to get an in state drivers license and documented living arrangements (power bills, etc.) that prove you're actually living in town year-round.
Long story short-- colleges have measures in place to ensure people who are out of state actually pay out of state tuition.
715.Well yes I'm sure but I know a couple people that have moved to Colorado and gained residency. Do many people take a year off between high school and college to become a resident somewhere?
