Why can't rails or setups be considered interesting content?

Sparknotes below
If I threw on some skis stood on a baseball bat I could call that a rail and it would be considered good content by the site. If I built some rails or a cool looking setup that's not considered interesting content.
I definitely have forgotten about the categories before but still. Honestly I feel like some of the stuff that's not considered worthwhile is the most interesting stuff. I have nothing against them but I've seen enough person standing on a 6 foot long pvc rail pics.
Could there maybe be some more categories or another section or something? I feel like I'm pretty involved in the ski scene through being in the parks all the time. I definitely need to remember the category options in the future but it's still frustrating to try and share stuff that you think is interesting and then it get's switched to private and disappears because there wasn't anybody actually skiing in it.
I could be a one off and maybe nobody else in the world cares about any of that kind of stuff but I feel like there definitely are people and there really isn't anything out there for sharing it or finding it.
Sparknotes: Is there a way you could add categories for pictures or a section for stuff like rails, and setups. It's the most interesting thing to me yet it seems to be viewed as meh content on here.
Not trying to come off like a dick but just had to ask. That's it that's all

I'm fucking sick and this fever is killing me. Sorry for an easy post being so cranky. I need to slam some water and sold meds and go to bed.

Its actually a hugely relevant point TBH. The way the categorization system was setup 14 years ago when it was created did have the idea of a skier being in the photo. As the world has progressed, we've more and more realized that there's a lot of flaws with that theory.
We don't have an answer or a solution just yet, but are working on what we could do to better organize all media. Take edits for example... it would be really helpful to have edits a ton better categorized instead of rammed all into one category.
Your point about rails is a good one too. Right now the splash page pulls only specific categories that are supposed to only have ski action in them. So Rails is supposed to be a skier sliding a rail, not a photo of a rail. Both are rails, but the splash page being a picture of a cool looking rail isn't what we're going for with the whole system. So on this logic, we have to keep a picture of a rail out of the rail category, or it would get POTD. Same problem with 'people' - when we originally tested the system in private beta, POTD was almost always just pictures of chicks.
Its not quite as simple as just allowing a picture of rails to be posted, as from an overall system standpoint it breaks the spirit of what we're trying to get. That doesn't mean that we're not wrong for disallowing it, but more that we don't have a specific theory on how to better categorize content.
Make sense at all? Always open for discussions, so no harm at all bringing this up.

Yeah I got ya. I hadn't uploaded anything like that in probably 6 months and forgot and tossed one up under rails. But then it got made private and I was like oh yeah no skier needs to be misc or something.
But it would be cool if there was some sort of spot for that kind of stuff.
Again sorry if the original was sandy sounding. It's all god just figured I'd say something in case there's any room for changed down the line

What about shopped pics? I feel I could pretty easily get a photo of the day by throwing a shopped picture up. It's got a skier but it's not really a skiing photo.
Just thinking it would be cool to have more categories. Even if stuff isn't pulled into the whats hot page. I'd love to have a section for setups or rails that's just people backyard setups, backyard rails, resort rails, urban possibilities, etc. These things already get posted but don't really have a home.
Even if it's like misc or whatever and none of it get's pulled into the hot page thats fine. Would just be sick to have something like that for a category.
I guess thats my $.04 since I already gave my 2 cents.

This would be nice cause it would help for other things too. Like if people posted up pictures of urban spots that they scoped in the summer it could go into a similar category. Plus who doesn't like looking at a dope feature someone put hard work into?
