Sooo Tiger pulls out of last weeks tourny because of "back problems" on the second hole,(getting his ass whooped)but teed off this morning for the US Championships. I could be wrong, but do backs heel that fast?

Someone has no idea how a debilitating back injury progresses, and how sharp someone has to be in order to stay competitive in a pro circuit.


Who gives a fuck, honestly? You're pissed he isn't killing it? You're pissed he has a persistent injury? What exactly is your issue here? Do you think he wants to be a flip flopper and not just pay golf like he fucking loves? Yeah that makes sense there, guy. Bravo.

If you have a back injury don't continue to do what messed it up in the fucking first place until it's 100%! He's pulling out in 3rd and 4th rounds and that could be someone else competing that isn't injured.

Maybe it wasn't that serious? Or maybe he just took a bunch of pain killers and called it good? You can't call someone out based on assumptions, that's like the number one rule of calling someone out. There are plenty of reasonable excuses for this. Then again you could be totally right. Well, maybe not about the vagisil. Then again there's a chance you are.

CheddarJack: Usually back injuries are pretty serious and easily injured again especially when they haven't heeled properly or long enough. honestly I hope his back gets better so he can play to his full potential again. The PGA gave him an extension to let them know if he was playing this weekend. I have never heard of them doing that for anyone else. That is bologna.

Thats because without him golf would be nothing. It doesnt matter if he is playing like shit, a large amount of people only tune in and pay attention to golf solely because of tiger. With him playing they get better ratings and better ratings equals more money

I don't know a thing about golf but surely the tournament and his sponsors would have been pushing him to play? He's worth so much money to both of them.

People that actually follow golf don't watch just for Tiger. Tiger is a big part to the game of golf and I'd say about 4 to 5 years ago people were only turning the channel to golf on Sunday because Tiger was in the run and usually won. Not now. Everyone wants to see him make a speedy recovery and play well. My point is if your back is hurt don't further injure it and taking other healthy peoples qualifying spot just because of your name.

They get much more from him turning up at twenty events than from him winning the only 2 he plays. The tournament can say "Tiger is playing" which is a huge draw for spectators, boosts advertising etc etc. The bulk of the impact his presence has is simply that, if he wins yeah sure they make more but still not that much more.

I see your point. If I was sponsoring Tiger Woods I would want him healthy. He's worth much more when he is healthy and playing really well rather than just appearing and not qualifying.
