Really on the fence about this. I like the idea of rocker on the Soma but i'd love a little more stability when I run myself off the trail. +k all around.
I'm 6 ft 180 lbs and I'm almost as good as Clark G /claim.

TwigI rode the Wednesday years back and it's a good solid regular camber ski but it is basically a park ski and it doesn't give you much all mountain versatility in my opinion. The added rocker on the Soma makes it a bit more playful all around the hill, it's still a pretty stiff so I don't think you will have any issues with stability. If you are set on those two, I'd definitely go for the Soma.
But:
I think the issue you likely have with your prophets isn't the weight of the ski, it's that they are likely mounted quite a long way back which means they'll feel way heavier spinning and flipping. Pretty much any forward mounted ski is going to feel lighter in the air. I have to say, and I think most of NS would agree, you're crazy going in to a season at Snowbird with a 92mm ski as your main ski. If you are keen to stay in the narrower widths, I'd go for the Prodigy, at 136/98/126 they will give you more versatility and still feel far lighter than your prophets. However, I'd look at the Candide 3.0. Next year's ski is a much more stable platform than last year's, with a little camber underfoot and less rocker. They are extremely light and you'll have a lot more fun in that famous snowbird pow.
AiurI didn't even think about the mount on the Prophets. They are definitely mounted farther back, and my Masterminds are at center. I mean the Al Dente is 98 and Harlaut does just fine spinning. haha
So if I did get the 3.0 or the prodigy, would you recommend a center mount? And the problem with the prodigy is that I already have a 98 waisted ski, so i might as well get something fatter for pow days (like the 3.0 or the 3.Zero?)
Thanks for the advice, this is super helpful.
TwigThe 3Zero is the same shape but has a different core construction and rocker profile. I don't think it is in the line next year but you might be able to find last year's still.
AiurHonestly I love the prophets so much as an all mountain ski, and I hate to see them go, but should I just sell them and go with the 3.0 and get a more dedicated park ski to replace the Masterminds?
I really like the profile of the 3.0, especially because they are so light, despite the weight. The 2.0s are heavier by 100g, which is funny because you have 10mm more underfoot with the 3.0
