Help with blind switch ups?

I had no real way of learning but I kinda learned by getting real comfortable with back 2's and then setting one basically earlier on the rail, doing a blind swap instead.
I have a backyard pvc rail at my house so I learned them on that, its a hard trick at first but easy once perfected

on the blind switch up the first thing you do is get on the rail once on the rail dip the tip of your downhill ski this becomes just like pretzeling except blind once this is complete you want a nice solid pop that is straight up once the pop is initiated you should turn your hips and shoulders and look over your shoulder once back on the rail you will have to slide the remainder unnatural so it is key to be prepared for this now with your problem i would guess that the reason your going away from the rail is because you are pushing of with the dipped ski so its pushing you away hope this helps good luck

Rail tricks (and most tricks) are about focusing and translating what you want to do in your mind to reality.
Not to be a dick but if you land to the left, clearly you should be aiming to land more to the right. It's as simple as that. Once you start to get the trick you will start to develop muscle memory and it will be easier and easier to do.

Find a low flat rail and attempt a blind swap until you get it down. Then Take it to steeper and more demanding rails once you are ready. Hope this helps.

I just learned blind 2s and started trying to learn swaps last night but right away I noticed the same problem. Are you landing to the left of the rail? because thats where i do. but ya for the few attempts that I actually landed, I literally just focused on pushing off towards the right more ahaha like the guy a few posts above said. Seriously it helped me alot

Don't hop the swap unless its over a kink or some shit. Surface swaps just always feel so much smoother and better.

So the way I try and tell people to learn blind swaps is to approach the rail and drop your right arm back sort of behind your right hip, then pop onto the rail, and continue that motion across your body with your arm, when you start to feel yourself going backwards hop up just a bit and keep looking over your left shoulder until your can see the rail again. Do this on a short rail/box to learn, once you've got it, try longer ones, once you've gotten that try it sooner and later in the slide. The key is really to just keep looking, a lot of the time people get to 90 and freak out and that's what causes the problems. Starting with a short rail and basically setting a combination of a 360 off a jump and blind 2 out of the rail but really early will help get the commitment to the trick, and since you won't be sliding far the unnatural slide problem isn't really there, then once you get comfortable with the swap, like I said before, add length to the rail and work on less exaggeration with the set.

Find a big tube rail and do blind surfaces. Or try them on boxes/butter boxes just to be able to get the motion down and you can try em on rails. I did the surface thing for blind swaps and the box thing for sw 270s onto rails
