How do advertisements influence you as a skier or person. ie how you dress, what music you listen to.

I feel while a bean having a big name skier or decent advertising will make me take the brand more seriously, the technical quality of the product is what drives my purchases especially in hard goods. Soft goods there is obviously a consideration of aesthetic design when deciding but quality is still a high priority.

They mean nothing to me. For christmas I make sure to ask my parents for whatever the good kids on ns are wearing/riding. Especially if it's somewhat obscure but not really but still anti mainstream enough, even if the quality is less. I just like that edge and not having the product everyone has because that shit is for gapers.

I listen to well made ads, i look for things i want to see in advertisements, the local used car commercial doesnt make me want to buy a used car from them, however, a team edit in which i see a lot of sick riders killing it on a certain pair of planks? That affects me more.

My opinion:
ads are irrelevant but line skis are really good at making them seem relevant

I really don't care about ads. I mean every now and then you see something that might be cool, so the ads might gove you some direction to look in, but I am way more influenced by the stuff I see in person, for example some pants looking good on someone and so on.

Actual adverts on NS don't affect me in any way. Howver the team affects my opinion of the product. E.G the new candide 1.0 look super fun and buttery, but that's because of Delorme and his freakish good skills. Outerwear is a little more subjective and often the influences of other riders along with external factors (surfing, skating etc) will also affect what I wish to purchase. However the most important thing for me is peformance in hard goods and soft goods.
