Fisheye and glidecam

I may invest in a glidecam. I currently have a t3i and a rokinon 8mm. Is fisheye to distorted for glidecam. I know people use the tokina 11-16 more commonly among a glidecam. Thoughts or reasons why it's bad would help. This is probably a repost so sorry in advance...

that'll work on a glidecam, just make sure the bottom plate isn't in the shot.

You'll probably have to add weights to the top plate if you're using a 2000 or 4000, but after that it'll be fine I think.

I used a glidecam hd 4000 at momentum with my 8mm and it worked perfectly.

The reason a fisheye is not ideal on a glidecam is because the distortion will work against you. Fisheyes are most effective when you shoot at a low angle, it gives the image a much more dramatic look. If you're looking level or down at your skier, especially on rails, the skier will be compressed to the rail. Jumps won't be as much of an issue.

IF you are going to glidecam id suggest a normal focal length lens (something without distortion). Like said above the fisheye is best at low angles (ie skate filming). I used to use a wide angle on my hvx and glidecam then I just stopped being a pussy and learned how to get everything in frame with the normal lens zoomed out.

Yeah, I just shot with the kit lens at 17mm before I had a fisheye or 11-16 and it did just fine
