sure, making a spiccoli reference is always worth a laugh, but once the 4bi9 guys started the whole 'mahalo lifestyle' thing, people have taken the verbage+fashion and beat it to death IMO (i.e. hawaiian-print explosion... saga, i'm looking right at you). not to mention that in the context that most skiers use the word 'mahalo,' they just end up looking like howlie wanna-be's (mahalo means 'thank you' or 'respect')
as skiers, it makes us look like we're trying really hard to relate our sport to other board sports. just like we do with snowboarding, snowboarding does with skating, and skating with surfing. its all a big fucking circle jerk, and people keep playing into it because they feel inferior to 'cooler' action sports.
TL;DR: hawaiian shirts are stupid. skiing is skiing, and surfing is surfing. mahalo.

and sure, it gets caught on to a year late by companies etc but once again that's not exclusive to this one thing haha
ChubbyBoySurfing is not chilled. If anything skiing is more chilled than surfing. Especially on good days where you have 6 guys paddling for one peak. The attitudes of surfers towards kooks is alot harsher than skiers to gapers. Just look at cases of surf rage.
jensenEvery skier loves South Park. Skiers watched South Park use mahalo and started using it. Mahalo led to more surf references. Surfing and skiing have similar cultures. Stop taking everything so seriously.

RubberSouli think you misunderstood what i said. i'm agreeing, surfing culture is a lot more aggressive and exclusive than skiing in a lot of places, but the general public's idea of surfing culture is namaste mahalo chill dudes etc
