TheHuggyBearAs someone that has opened a terrain park and worked in them for several years a ski resort trying to start up a freestyle scene is a gold mine as a manager. Always creative opportunities and the marketing side of a park is honestly so much fun. I live in buffalo and if I was any closer and had maybe a full year behind a cat I would be all over this job.

MinggI'm from buffalo too. What resort did you do that for?

Mr.BishopYou can be a great park manager without cat experience. Obviously its awesome to have, but the best cat drivers are the ones who have been driving for 10+ years. If you can learn how to work with great cat operators, manage and design a build as well as run the park staff it can be more important than a small amount of cat experience.
SkiBum.At a large resort you might be able to get away with not knowing much about cats, but at a small resort it's a must. You're in a cat just as much as your main operators..or you, the manager, are the main operator.
JwenzHawt damn I sure do wish I had cat experience. I am going to be living in southern nh this winter and would live the opportunity to be involved. I could learn cat driving quick ;)
Mr.BishopYou can learn to drive a cat in like 30 minutes. However developing any sort of blade control takes years before you don't suck complete ass.
Building a jump requires a shitload of blade control.
You can still do a lot by working with the trail groomers if you just know what you want though. Its not ideal at a smaller place if you can't drive a cat - but I used to take guys that had never even thought about building a jump in their career and make masterpieces. A great cat driver knows how to move snow really well and very efficiently. If you can help guide them as to where to move it, together you can make artwork.

Nashoba_ParksHey all. This is Keith the old park manager from Nashoba. To give you a better idea of what I was into... it's 2 parks or "areas" that housed 30-35 features fully open. 5-7 of them are jumps/snow features. We run Pisten Bully edges. Rotation of jibs 3-5 times a week. Staff of about 11. Lots of part time college students. You will be in the cat for most of your life and still manage events and day operations.
I have moved onto Windham Mountain Resort in NY. I will now be in charge of 6 parks and whatever else they send my way. Andy I have a new cell number! PM me so you and Jeff metal can have my number!

Mr.BishopAny way this all shakes out we should definitely have an NS gathering at each resort to test out the product. :)
