macinnisBecause the only image that pops up into peoples heads when you say "mexican" is a weak and lazy dude (that is somehow also hardworking, weird) waiting by the home depot, practically making them seem like a sub class of humans fit only for menial jobs. Thanks media. I care though cause all I see is a chick being brutally beheaded with an axe. Thanks for the nightmare's LiveLeak. Everyone should be made to watch the cartel executions, that could help.
What people dont realize is that the violence in mexico is a direct result of the conditions of the drug war. The profitability of drug trafficking goes up exponentially with the level of the drug war enforcement. And as profitability goes up, so does violence. In order for cartels to separate themselves from trouble they kill tons of people. Its not about being cold blooded. if you drop a food crate in somalia, the locals will fight over it, and possibly kill for it. In mexico its essentially a free for all. So many people are competing to smuggle drugs that in order to be a viable drug running entity you have to kill people. respect and the like is gained through killing people. This is also why some of the killings are extremely brutal. The mexicans dont like doing this - they do it because they have to. Its survival in a high stakes free for all. If you wanted to end the violence you have to END THE PROFITABILITY OF DRUG SMUGGLING. To end the profitability you need to lower the stakes and reduce punishments in america. In the drug game, especially in mexico, its all or nothing. You cant just farm a little weed or a little tar and sell it to make a meagher living. By doing this you will show up on the radar of a cartel who will either kill you or make you work for them, in which case you may be killed by a rival cartel. If you decriminalize, profits will collapse, as more people will be able to make meager livings selling and smuggling drugs. As the supply goes up, price/profitability goes down. Addicts will be able to then afford their addictions within their means, and not have to steal/hustle to make tons of money to feed their addiction. There will finally be a middle ground where people aspire to be small time dealers and make a living within the law. The cartels cant kill everybody, which is why a mass increase in mid level dealers would drive the organized crime aspect bankrupt.
People wouldnt have to rat to save their ass, killings due to ratting or fear of ratting would drop dramatically.
It all comes back to the inferior losers who want to believe they are living the most rich and fulfilling life possible by doing whats legal, (alcohol, tobacco, caffeine). They are angry that their alcoholism makes them look 2 decades older than they are, angry that tobacco is giving them cancer, angry that there are superior drugs that give you a better high with less adverse health effects...
They are angry about this all so they want everybody to be forced to suffer the same fate as them.
thats why we still have the drug war. These inferior fucks, the father fondling dea agents, the prosecutors, the worthless politicians who just want votes.
It will end one day, but do we have to wait for another 150,000 mexicans to die before we say this needs to stop? Fuck...
