Rub on wax

I was wondering if rub on ski wax works just as well as regular wax melted by an iron. i will still get a tune at the beggining of the season but i am wondering if the rub on stuff works just as well or better.

It is not nearly as good. It rubs off after a few runs, and a hot iron will get the wax deeper into the base.

Rub in wax will only last a few runs because all you are doing is rubbing it on the surface. your not warming te base like you do with an iron so the wax I not going into the ski. It can be effective between waxes but does not replace a hot wax every week or so Depending how often you ski.

i ski every weekednd at least and get around 50 days a season i usually get a tune after about 30 days.

A tune after that long is fine by. You want to wax more often. I like to wax after 3-4 days maybe less if it's icy. Waxing is so easy and makes such a difference it's so worth doing.
