All depends on the angle of the QP if it was like a halfpipe sort of thing with the QP on a slope that would be sick. If it was like Dumonts a few years back that would be gay

I remember when there used to be 1/4s in some slope runs.

I feel like unless they're going to have a motor on their skis or race to the 1/4 x won't be down though.

No motor, no racing, no thanks.

i think your talking about the one hit height comp that Peter Olenick won, and yah that was kinda dumb they should have made it a full QP if they wanted to see some real craziness

that too, but i remember back in the tanner/simon era they had a QP built and maybe it was just an exhibition but they had some sort of comp on it down in the village.

Yeah King of Quarters in 2008. It was right in the middle of X-Games somewhere in Aspen. Tanner won it and I think Colby took second.

your an idiot, that was like where freeskiing started out in the Xgames. Our ex-coach Rex Thomas competed in and so did Yoski the owner of TMC in Whistler. It's come and gone.

I don't think they're gonna re-introduce something like this the year they take out fmx for being too dangerous.

I think x-games is on it's way out personally.

Quarter pipe competitions were huge in snowboarding around 10 years ago but died out. It'd be hard to bring the hype back for a contest that was brushed aside for not being too fun to watch.

I think something like a full run judged on speed, style, and technicality of tricks would be cool. The run would have mostly natural terrain apart from a few lips and what not, a few judges would be either watching from lift towers or on the ground at various locations.

Mountain bike style speed and style. 2 side by side courses full of berms and features where the riders' speed is given points alongside a scoring for the tricks they pull.

I hope so. It was good, it brought sports into the main picture and paved the way for other big comps, but it's been going downhill for years. Would like to see a bunch of smaller comps pop up that are hungry to get a chance to kill it.

I don't hate x but it's not at all what it used to be.

You can do more spins than just a 7 and still have style just look at Vincent Gagnier. Also how do you judge style? One trick that is stylish to a person may look like absolute shit to another. X-Games also attracts a lot of viewership from non-skiers and they like to see massive doubles and triples, if pros only did cork 5's and shit then the general public will have a bad impression.

id rather see a massive hip like that of the movie War years ago by poor boyz. you know there is always someone crazy enough to try and clear the whole thing as jump.

Make the slope course a mega slope course. Hopefully you'd scare people into doing fewer spins (except Bobby), it would be more of a spectacle but doesn't have to be any more dangerous (eg the way Jon builds the JOI jumps). It'd give the sport some 'wow' factor that's been lacking for a few years

Maybe quarter pipe big air could make it at X. I think there is SO much room for progression on the quarter pipe. It feels we are maxed out with little room to progress at the regular big air (then again every year that seems to be said..)

Makes me think of the mega ramp event at summer X. I didn't think it would survive because it feels like such a one-off event that doesn't gel with the rest of the skateboarding world, but every year the veteran and youngster skaters bring new tricks to the quarter pipe making it fun to watch.

Exactly. Everyone always complains about comp judges not taking style into consideration, but people would be complaining if they did take it into consideration. It's a lose-lose.
