Theres nothing wrong with wearing a helmet. I'd much rather wear one and be able to throw down without having to worry about hitting my head and getting a concussion than "look cool" without one. Yeah you can still get them with a helmet but not nearly as bad. Look at someone like Kevin Pearce. He would have died if he wasn't wearing a helmet.

In my opinion, I prefer the look of helmets anyways. Other than Rurocs. Never get a Ruroc.

yeah, I would always rather be safe then look cool. At least if the risk of getting severly injured is as high as in skiing. For example I don't always wear a helmet when biking, but then, I don't do flips and shit on my bike ;)

I always wear my helmet. Wearing one saved my life- had I of not been wearing one my damage would have been more severe or even caused death.
As for others, I always encourage my friends to wear them, especially if they're in the park. I'd rather be safe than sorry. If they don't want to, then that's cool, all the power to them.

About two weeks I go I was just skiing down a little run off a pretty popular run. I caught and edge, started going switch for half a second then fell over and whacked my head pretty badly. Full whiplash on my neck and had a pretty sore headache. If I wasn't wearing a helmet I would of been fucked.

yeah, I remember those times too. And I'm glad that no idiot ran into me as a kid, because otherwise I might not be here today. Don't really see how anyone can let their kids ski without helmets these days and I somehow really don't like all the very old people skiing around without helmets, because those people are often the ones who would need them most.

Im good at landing back seat on 95% of the jumps I go off so yes. Keeps my head warm anyways.

Used to occasionaly wear it, mostly not. Now i always wear one, hate it but seeing as i've got a few concussions i don't really wanna go without it.
Also, not really my business if others wear them or not.

helmets do not protect much against concussions, if you think you're invincible wearing one, you are much more likely to hurt yourself

i never wore one as a kid, i did wear one when i was learning to ride the park but i tend not to wear one. The only time i've had a concussion is wearing one

Honestly. Would like to just see it become law like it is with bikes. If it was law to wear one then you may find a lot of unexpected things happen. Prices may go down as the mountain insurance would be less if everyone had to wear a helmet. The parks may progress more as the park crews again would onow everyone using the features was protected. It would also mayb encourage the development of even better an safe helmets. Overall yeah a few people may complain you are taking away there freedom but if you feel that way just because you hav to wear a helmet then most resorts would not want them on the slopes anyway.

I was being stupid last season attempting overflip 5's off a 10 ft. backyard jump right after a nice ol' ontaripow dumping (like 30 cm of shitty ass powder), smashed my head off the landing enough times that i started feeling a lil dizzy, went in and grabbed a helmet, kept on hucking it. enough of a stupid lesson to teach me to wear one when trying flippy tricks, even outside of the park haha

Calm down mate I was expressing my opinion. Really though if it would benifit the general skiing population in the ways I listed above I can't for te life of me see why you would be against it. bike parks don't give an option about wearing a helmet so I don't really see why ski resorts would not go the same way. But if you think it's a bad thing fair enough that is your opinion on the matter.

This. I always wear a helmet when I ski (and when I bike) even if it's an easy day or spring skiing or summer hiking to ski or a short bike ride or whatever. Something can always go wrong. I think other people should always wear helmets as well. However, it's not my place (or anyone else's) to force them to.

After a really bad fall and serious concussion, blacking out and waking up in an ambulance, I always wear one. I was wearing one at the time and I'd be a damn vegetable now if it wasn't for it. Scared me into reassurance that it's a good thing to wear a helmet.

As for what other people do, I don't care. That's their call and what they feel the most comfortable doing.

Ok maybe not on ticket prices but I can garentee you money does get reinvested. I work for whistler and can tell you a lot of changes can only be made by increasing revenue in certain areas. So although you may not see 20% reductions in ticket prices I woul bet a family would see pretty significant savings over an entire vacation When all the small savings were added up.

it's mandatory in the park at my home resort and other surrounding resorts.

if it's spring skiing at somewhere where it's not mandatory then i probably won't wear one, as long as i'm comfortable with the jumps and the rest of the park

My mountain made helmets mandatory in the park, didnt affect me at all this season although spring skiing in 60 degree sun it definitely got very annoying. i dont wear them when i go to hood unless im in the zig zag or trying a new trick

Always except when I'm hiking / skinning. I have a Bern Baker but that doesnt have good ventilation so I am in the market for a helmet with beter ventilation because sometimes I do want a helmet on my head while hiking / skinning / climbing. But I am also wearing a helmet when I know I'm just 'cruising' the groomers.
