Rodeo 5

Ok I've been looking around and there's no real good answers to how to throw a rodeo. I feel like they are a pretty mellow trick. But when I throw them in tramp it's a lot more floppy than I feel like it would be on skis. So what do u guys do for the flip? Take off, where you look, your shoulders and landing. Thanks guys. Any tips are great

on skis I usually kick my foot out and look over my shoulder

Start with a backflip, start getting it out to the side a bit by taking off the lip a little crooked and dropping one shoulder just a tiny bit more than the other. Keep getting it more to the side while reaching for a japan grab. Eventually you'll feel it flatten out more and you'll be able to take it to five, voila rodeo.

thats because rodeos aren't really a thing on tramps. its too hard to get on the rodeo axis, so flat 5s are essentially rodeos.
for those, throw a flat, but dip your right shoulder forward (if you throw left). this will get your body spinning a little more and they float around pretty well.

Just start throwing them how you think you would do it. No one can really explain it to you. It's very hard to explain, especially over NS. Just man up and start throwing them. You will get over your fear pretty quick you just have to start. good luck man

Yeah it's kinda a lincoln 180 in a way but more leaned back

Back in the days of High North, Mark abma used to give the following advice:

When you pop off the lip, concentrate on pushing off of you pinky toe on your right foot, and your big toe on your left foot. Try to flip toward the landing so that you don't end up floating sideways. Spot the landing and ride away. works like a charm.

anyway rodeos are tough to give advice on i think, cause people throw them so differently. some rodeos are way to the back, some to the side, and some even way forward

i pop back and use my right foot to kick an imaginary soccerball that is about 2-2.5 feet from my left shoulder tend to grab japan cause it looks good and throws the trick around

Imagine theres a bed at about chest height in front of you and you want to jump up onto it and land on your back.

If you spin left, look over your left shoulder or spin right and look over your right shoulder.

It might also help to throw a fist around you in the direction your spinning. (If you spin left, throw your left arm out towards the landing.)
