I went to Alta and skied Gunsight yesterday. Plenty of snow left, well worth the hike.

Sh4dowA lot longer than it should have been. If I had parked in the right lot and known the best route to get there, it probably wouldn't have been much over a half hour, but it took me about 2 and a half hours to get there. I had been advised on NS where to park, but the girl at the gate to the access road said the first lot would probably be best, and it was relatively close to the lifts I had been told to park at on NS, so I thought maybe that's what they meant. So that added a bit. Then the trail I took twisted back and forth a lot, so I didn't know how far to take it and when to get off, and I couldn't see the snow from the trail, so when I got off I just started climbing but it got really steep with a lot of loose rock and was really hard to climb, then I couldn't even go that way and had to backtrack. I hiked from almost as far away as where the first two pics were taken.
tl;dr took me 2.5 hours to get there (and about an hour on the way back, so a bit over 3.5 hours round trip), should have taken a half hour each way. Still worth it. And I'll know what to do next time.
Sh4dowIt was unintentional, lol. I had the lens rotated 90 degrees because I had it on a handlebar mount on my bike and I forgot to turn it back for skiing, so it took video sideways (I rotated it back to upright in a video editing program), that's why it's tall and narrow. And as for mount position yeah that's trial and error, but chances are yours will come out similar to mine if you just rotate the lens 90 degrees and edit it to flip it back upright.
Sh4dowIf I go back in a few days does anyone want to go with?
