Adam Delorme has without a doubt one of the most unique and incredible styles on skis. With footage courtesy of Level 1 Productions "Partly Cloudy" we want you to download the raw video file, chop, cut and re edit it any way you like. Upload the video to Youtube and submit it to the contest. Share your video with your friends and collect as many votes as possible. We will award the winner with an Adam Delorme jacket and pant combo. Contest submissions and voting end August 8th.

I think this will just turn into a popularity contest and no real skill is needed to win. I think Saga should rethink this in the way you can win.

I swear, it's impossible to try and do anything positive for people without someone thinking theres an ulterior motive. What is so wrong with us taking footage that has already been used, letting people who like to edit play with it, and then rewarding the best one? If the winner was chosen by us picking our favorite it would be less fair in our eyes than letting your peers decide who wins.
People said similar things about our sponsor me contest last year but ultimately the best skier had the most votes.

In all honesty I can see both sides. It's a tough call, but letting the people vote is probably a good option.

It's simple.
He has a lot of friends in facebook and repeatedly ask them to vote. All those voting contests work like that. Hopefully it will change from friends count to video edit contest.

This is what I don't like about "like" contests. I haven't been on the videos yet due to schoolwork but when I do, I'll be voting for the best edit. He'll probably end up winning by spamming the newsfeed to vote for him.

since popularity is never a good measure of "best" (music- bad pop stars, movies- hollywood v indie, ski resorts- vail and their dominion) and this contest is being decided by who has the most friends on facebook to vote for them instead of the quality of the edit....

I feel that there should be a winner picked by staff or Delorme himself (of course after weeding out the entries that had little effort). Anyways, I'm having fun editing the footage so far. Might have to pull a few all nighters to get my entry done in time..

also with this contest, the earlier you get your entry in, the better chance you have at winning (which also throws quality out the window). I'm going to be working until the deadline to make sure mine is as good as I can make it- by that point it won't matter how good it is, there's 0 chance for winning for anyone who works until the end. (one vote per day, and that douche canoe begging all his friend to vote for him will have close to 1000 votes by then) /rant

NS alone has a ton of members. If this community of people can't band together to choose the right winner thats pretty sad.

But at the end of the day this contest was really designed to let anyone who wanted a chance to edit with world class video footage. Something most will never get to do.
