Camera Stabilization?

I looked around on NS and couldn't find much. If you know of a thread elsewhere just let me know. I want a stabilizer that doesn't break the bank but does a decent job at getting it done. Thanks k+ for good help.

What kind of camera? What's your budget. There's tons of options that could fit what you've described, ranging from pretty cheap DIY options to used/new Glidecams (and others), so help us narrow it down.

When I built my first stabilizer, it was for a camcorder, so that was a little different. Check out these videos - I haven't tried any of these but it looks like they work pretty well and they're certainly cheap.

Just remember - it takes time and practice to use one of these things right. It's probably not a good idea to build it and expect wonders. Make sure you take the time to learn to balance and move with it in ways that promote smooth shots.
