Well you can clearly see that the bases say Chronic in the pics.. And the whole TW-Line deal was signed way after 15-16 designs have been decided. So MAYBE next year, who knows.

Yeah good point. I didn't look that closely at the bases. I just made the assumption because the graphic doesn't follow trend of the past years.

Yeah, but at the same time, Tom just walked on to the Line team, so I don't know if they will jump to get him his own ski. The only team member with a true Pro Model is Pollard (although you could argue LJ, and maybe Andy/Will) and he has been on the Line team and designing his own skis for over a decade. Although if pro could pull it off, it would be TWall.
I'd guess the boot has a live fit zone. Whether or not that equates to a perfect though, I couldn't tell ya. I wish we had a local Atomic dealer so I could try some stuff on, then I might have a better idea of how a boot with live fit feels and performs.

Obviously it's not perfect for everyone, but we've come up with a killer fit for the narrow/narrow-medium footshape. In addition to having a great out of the box fit, we've incorporated our Memory Fit technology into the shell, liner, and cuff for a completely tailored fit around your foot, ankle, and leg shapes. Having a heat moldable shell in the touring world is something that is fairly rare and something a lot of touring folks should be excited about.

Exciting times..but I'm still more interested in the tech binding..can you tell me who developed it?
I know this Italian guy that is working on some next generation tech binding for some big names but he cant tell me shit untill all patents came through..
Just going to be coming out next year with same design as planned this year. The only reason it was not released was because of manufacturing tolerances not being up to spec. That's the vibe I got from Wild Snow

Matt could you explain to us a little how that walk mode functions? Looks neat! Also is that "tongue" component cloth? Figuring the DH will have that replaced with some type of plastic/carbon/weird other polymer I will never understand the science of

as dumb as all the design features as this ski are, I was wondering how you have extra camber while the camber design is reverse flat reverse, therefore having no camber at all.
"experimental" would be better than "dumb" ... (although remember I've already skiied the original heartcarves so I already have a mental framework to think around.)
It's a "full rocker ski with the middle 50%-%60 of length flattened" would be a better way to think about it. The rockered bits are then boosted up to compensate for the flattened parts. There are a few reasons for the flat parts.
One is because a full rocker at that length would entail a very high take-off speed - ie the speed in which carving can start occurring comfortably. In the original model that entailed having the hands behind the back to remove speed wobbles which would be required up until that speed is reached when hands can drop to the sides.
I don't want to impose that hands-behind back requirement on this model. Rather, I want to make them usable a lower speeds (through sliding on the flat parts.) I also want to make them landable off large jumps.
I was thinking Thovex's "One of Those Days" in this model because in the original model there is a "usable speed" and it has an upper limit. So I wanted to push that usable speed up with this model.
I want to be the fastest guy on and off piste... but also in control and relaxed. No adrenaline.
