RideMiWhich is worse
Caucasian_AsianGood luck, and stay away from the pain pills if you can.
cbradyHit a rock skiing snowbird at the top of baldy. The worst part about everything (surgery, rehab, etc) was hiking 50ft through powder to get my ski. I was in a no-fall zone and clipped a rock at high speed.
I tore my ACL 4/4/14. First few weeks were tough, then once I was able to get on a bike, pre-habbing it was the best thing. The better you go in, the better you are on the other side. I worked my ass off in the gym to get it looking good and almost as strong before surgery.
I got surgery on 5/22/14. First few days sucked. Make sure to get the nerve block, that does wonders. it was a struggle to get around, your knee is the size of a balloon. It starts to get better after the first week. Make sure to take your meds.
Tomorrow, 5/17/14, I'll be eight weeks post op. I've been working my ass off in PT, and have already done some mountain bike rides. Certainly you need to be careful and do what your PT says.
Looking to be back on the slopes (taking it easy) for opening day.
