theabortionatorJesus christ. Will all you jealous noobs just stop? They should be using these scholarships to get and education that will land them a good job? Do you understand what the schedule is like for some of these athletes? Also the fact that it's fucking irrelevant to their skill. If you make an edit and I steal it and sell it for millions and give you nothing but a season pass to my mountain and some free food you'd be pissed. But you got a free season pass, editing is a hobby not a job, you don't deserve anything more. Lots of people have to pay for their food and season passes and I'm giving you one for free so you should be thankful.
Pretty much what you're saying.
It's fucking insane how people can't wrap their heads around this. Goes to show why things are so slow to change in life. If things have always been one way, regardless of any reason, people feel that they should stay that way for ever just because.
Get your heads out of your asses.
/needed a good rant and people are going full retard in this thread.
YOLO
theabortionatorFor some sports you HAVE to play college to get into the pros. It has nothing to do with getting a college education. The sport is unrelated to college and they want to play the sport, college is just the next level of that sport.
This isn't a "well you're just on the other side of the argument" type deal. You're being a butthurt child because you couldn't get a loan to go to school and you're jealous as fuck that other people get to go to school for free.
You're jealously is making it impossible for you to bust out even a tiny drop of logic. It's insane how far out there you are.
Read your post "If I was there I'd be so happy and they're all greedy fucks". You don't have their skills, their skills are irrelevant to college other than college being the venue for them to play at before the pros. They're generating stupid amounts of money, they have skills you don't and they're getting fucked.
It's sick to play for a few years of college, waste your skills as an athlete for $0 then blow out your knee and never make the pros. But oh wait, you have a bullshit college education. Also good luck keeping your scholarship if you can't play.
You close with the "life isn't fair" argument? While that's 100% true that's the dumbest bunch of shit when used to justify things. Life isn't fair, but that's not an excuse for that. If somebody stole your car and drove it off a bridge you wouldn't be stoked if your insurance company said "Sorry bro, life isn't fair. Better luck next time".
You keep acting is though education is these peoples primary goal because it's YOUR goal. If you could learn to put yourself in other peoples shoes and get some perspective you'd be so much better off.
I was totally feeling like dropping some rants today and your totally ignorant/jealous posts were the perfect spot for it.
TLDR, ERRRMAGEERRRD can I haz free education
yOLO
theabortionator^This
That's against ncaa rules and the player can fuck themselves by taking them. Just because some of them are getting some form of compensation does not mean it's through the proper channels or even fitting for their worth in terms of the business. Also that doesn't apply to all the players even if they have a decent economic value. And if the NCAA is raking in bank that doesn't mean they shouldn't still have to compensate players regardless of any private donations being made.
Triple post.
Also when you type "kinda" instead of kind of you sound like a fucking chode. Just letting you know, bro.

Granite_StateAlso when you type "ur" instead of your or you're you sound like a fucking chode. Just letting you know, bro.
Granite_StateGet more worked up about this issue, you can't haha.
Granite_StateI don't think those were actually associated with the schools. Like Mark Zuckerberg wasn't working with Harvard to develop Facebook, he did that on his own time. I think Napster is kinda the same deal.
hey-dude-its-meUR even worse at trying to hurt feelings than you are at arguing, just a weak mind all the way around
Granite_StateGet more worked up about this issue, you can't haha.
Granite_StateJust had to point out two little things from this portion of your retarded rant.
1. 2% of college athletes go pro. 2%. If you are honestly banking on going pro, you are an idiot. Seriously. You just have to look at the statistics. If someone wants to try, more power to them, but they should realize that. You also bring up injuries and losing scholarships. In football, 36 of every 1,000 athletes get injuries. And almost all of them AREN'T season ending. So you are talking about a minuscule number of students you took a risk and lost.
2. I'm certainly not jealous. I don't give two shits about most college sports (aside from hockey and the BCS Championship). But I was raised to be grateful. If I was given a full ride because of athletic ability I would take full advantage of that. There are plenty of D1 athletes that can balance both. You are just making an excuse, which this thread is full of. If you are playing college sports to go pro you are taking a risk. Just like Im taking a risk of taking out a student loan without know when or where the job will come from to pay for that in the future.
So you and that other clown can call me dumb or jealous or whatever because IN MY OPINION I don't think D1 athletes should be paid (unless academics are offered a similar deal). And you can continue to get more and more butthurt over my posts. Fact is this ranks rather low on my "give a shit" list and is something to pass the time at work. SO keep replying, I'm enjoying it!
The referenced post has been removed.
Even the ones that don't go pro are still generating $$$$. And as far as percent of college athletes, as said before nobody care about you and your IM frisbee league or whatever. Also it doesn't matter the amount of people, they're generating a shit ton of money and getting fucked for it.
You're certainly not jealous but your whole post was about how they get scholarships and you almost had to quit school because you could get a loan. You would have been happy with just a scholarship but they're all greedy fucks. Yup not jealous at all bro, lol.
Lol, grateful and jealous are not the same bro. Don't you have access to a fucking dictionary? Here you go again about how YOU would be happy with a scholarship. And excuses? People are laying down the truth and you're still butthurt that you had to get help to even attend school and you're unable to move past that.
And now you try and call me butthurt. You replied several times already. Look at my post count, I enjoy typing. My posts hit you right in the feels and you can't handle. I bet you're cranking hawthorne heights right now and cursing the internet.
The internet get better at it. Actually life in general.
Granite_StateIf your definition of being good at life is working at a shitty, ice covered mound in upstate new york, setting up the three rusted out rails you have, and building a mound you call jump being good at life I don't think I'm doing that bad for myself haha.
P.S. I feel like you're the type of kid that, after finishing these "rants" pats himself on the back and says "the abortionator got another one". Keep it up, I love it.
zzzskizzzChecking back into this thread, and my suspicions have been confirmed Granite_State is a moron.
Lucky.naw he is just drunk probably, he will do some damage control tomorrow.
