Tight or loose

How many people like a tight fitting boot compared to a looser fitting boot. My boots cause my feet to go numb pretty quick but i also wear my ski boots 4.5 sizes smaller than my shoe. Does anyone else like riding park with an extremely tight fitting boot or do people prefer a bit of waggle room. Second, when buying boots, do you buy them to fit with a bit of work/punch or do you buy a boot to fit out of the box? Im asking because i got in a debate with a co-worker over the subject. I feel a tighter boot is better for park compared to something that "fits" but is not a super snug fit. What do you guys think/feel works best in a park atmosphere.

depends on the boot. but I typically go super tight with my boots. I used to wear a 29 (size 11 foot) but when I started using footbeds again I was able to build by arch back up and now I wear a 26.5 with comfort (and control since it's so tight)

You should not be wearing your boots loose with any wiggle room.

1. It's not good for your skiing. You have significantly less control of your skis which could cause you to hit something ie. tree, stump, rock, gaper, skier. LOOSE BOOTS ARE BAD FO YA HEALTH.

2. You want to wear boots as tight as possible without your feet going numb. This is not good for your feet and can hurt them in the long run.

Tight for sure! Worst thing is a loose boot with massive shin bang that stays..

Loose. Loser boots are more comfy. If you like them tight go ahead but its common for loser boots.

If you mean loose by youre able to fit a couple fingers between you and the boot that you sir are wrong.
Dont listen to him youll just get shin bang or have foot problems in the future because your foot is never going to be seated right.

If you are gettin numb feet then the if is not right. Even if you do downsize (most people who think they are downsizing are infact in there correct size) ypu can still have the Boots fitted so you don't get numb feet. Racers downsize and obviously they can't race with numb feet. The most important factor in any boot is the footbed. The footbed is used to align the foot an without it it is impossible to get a good fit.

So often people try a boot out of the box and complai. It's too tight even though it the correct size. Until you get footbeds made you really can't comment on the fit of te boot. It is for this reason I often only she'll check and don't let the customer try the boot until we make the footbeds as the tight feel will instantly give the customer a negative perception of the boot before it's actually fitted.

Overall you you should be in a close fitting boot in your size ir maybe a size down but you should not be getting numb or painful feet even if you downsize.
