Replying to Chicago Officially Deemed a War Zone
There were 82 people shot and 14 people killed in Chicago over the weekend. Chicago is averaging 17 people being shot per day so far in 2014. Isn't it ironic how the most stringent gun laws in the U.S. happen to be in Chicago - and look what is happening there! The mayor of the city has resorted to calling in the National Guard to patrol the streets. If thats what strict gun control gets you than anyone who still feels the need for more gun control after reading this is mental. Leaders there won't stop pushing gun control though, they are blaming the violence on lax control laws in surrounding areas allowing flow into their populations. This makes sense, except that it raises the unanswered question of why those areas aren't experiencing worse problems. Theres that and the fact that these so-called leaders of course made it illegal to bring firearms into Illinois from those surrounding states. So those gun control laws are obviously working well. The only ways I can conceive of answering this problem is that it seems strict gun laws solve nothing (perhaps worsen the situation), that or the violence problem is not related to gun laws at all. Thats what I tend to lean more towards, that the countries problem with violence has nothing to do with guns, it has to do with some of our sub-cultures like our gang-culture. Gun control advocates love to point out that other civilized countries don't have problems with gun violence like we do. What they fail to recognize is that those countries have no where near the gang population that we have in the USA. Thats why its ridiculous to put America up on a shelf with those other countries. Their demographics and culture are nothing like ours so theres really no logical point at comparing the US with those places. Guns could entirely vanish into thin air like they have in those other countries and we'd still have the same problems with violence. No doubt about it. Seriously though, its not like gangs would all of sudden disappear if guns didn't exist in this country. They would still be part of our countries DNA and would be just as violent as they are now, they'd just use other tools to kill.
My question is wheres Obama, the NCAA, and the talking heads in the liberal national media on this epidemic. Do we have to wait for someone like George Zimmerman to come along before they start spewing off about violence? Even then they'd most likely fail to address the real issue and instead make the debate about hate crimes against minorities and how all the white gun totting red necks are the ones to blame for all the violence. Thats what they always do as long as the chance presents itself. It really is amazing how some people, mostly liberals, think that gang violence and gun violence have no correlation. In reality they are pretty much one in the same. Instead though they are obsessed with trying to disarm your everyday law abiding average joe. Its really is amazing how they have no lack of concern for the real criminals creating all of the violence in this country. They're only concerned with the conservatives who own guns because they love to take away anything that those on the right stand for. Theres all of that and the fact that a lot of these criminals from the inner city most likely vote for the democrats. Theres always a few exception thats why they wont acknowledge these gangs as a problem. It could actually hurt them politically if they call out their electorate.
