Help with ollies

so I'm trying to get into skating this summer and I'm having some trouble with ollies. (inb4 op is a goober and that i suck at everything) i can get a good pop probably five inches or so but i always land on the board with my heels and so i can't really ride away. any tips for this?

Place your front foot lower down the board about half way maybe a little less, then you kick down with your back foot then immediately lift your front foot with the board and try and move that front foot up to the mount of the trucks(where the screws are). when you land try and be square and balanced as if you were to jump on your board while your ghost riding.

When you ollie dont think about it too much because that always fucked me up when I used to skate. Just get the motion done without moving or movong really slow and make sure you land centered. Ya know.

Before I started rollerblading gave skateboarding a shot. I learned Ollie's and heelflipa in the same day. I chilled with some friends at the skatepark and they took me to the grass there and helped me out through every step. If you have some park rat homies just ask them to help. Its a very ski like community and everyone loves watching new people suceed. Really just bust it out homie. You got this.

XL years later I can't flick a kick flip. Idk what it is but that shit is just not for me.

yea i practiced in the grass a bit and i started getting em better. I'm gunna mess around with it a bunch tomorrow

Also... I wasn't able to ollie for like 2 years. I was able to nollie and a couple other things but for some reason i couldn't ollie. It was because i over thought it through and ended up leaning forward and fucking it up all the time.

Turn your front foot about 30 degrees and kick it forward don't keep your foot flat and try to move the board.

also, as far as your body goes, make sure to lean wid it and rock wid it, if your weight gets too far to one side, you wont have control over the board. in the future, try to get used to staying balanced without thinking about it, and in many different foot positions. learn to ride fast and in control. at that point you can begin mastery of basic tricks and progression starts to depend on how much you are willing to try rather than skills you need to develop

For me I place my front foot a little below the front bolts then get a good pop from the back and use my front foot to level the board out so I can ollie over stuff.
