Replying to Rasta era

These days I see so many people at my mountain sporting the red, green, and yellow rasta colors. Where did this rasta fad originate from. I only vaguely see how it's related to skiing with smoking and good vibes and all. I guess it's kind of like how skiiers associate themselves with the gangster look. Did people realize reggae music went well in edits and then they started sporting the look?
What style/fad/change is next next??
Basically just share thoughts on rasta and gangsta looks, orgins, future of, or anything.
