iFlipI have made a very significant amount of money selling on eBay. The trick is you have to know your niche better than anyone else in the entire world. Drop shipping is not a niche and you will not make money. Tens of thousands of people are already doing that.
Is there a hobby you have that you know every single facet of? Do you collect something that you know more about than anyone else out there? Making money online and doing no "real" work is difficult and time-consuming. I make anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand a month doing just this. Keep in mind that eBay takes 12% of all sales between the eBay fees and the PayPal fees. I aim for a minimum of 30% profit on anything I buy and re-sell. That's 30% after paying shipping both ways, fees, packing materials, etc.
Simply selling things you have around the house is not really "making" money. To make money you need to buy and sell something, not simply get rid of things you already have. I spend many hours a week looking for things to buy and then sell. I have recently transitioned off of eBay as much as possible, simply due to the high fees. I still buy on eBay and do sell there some as well.
If you would like to PM me I can help with more specific questions you (or others) may have. I do this mostly as a hobby, although I do count on it for a portion of my income.
