Clear coat for painted cooler

My girlfriend painted a cooler for me, I was wondering if anyone knows what I can use as a clear coat for it so that the paint doesn't get chipped. Most of the results I get are for plasti dip, but I know that peels and I think I probably want to use something different. Any suggestions?

Kind of paint? Assuming no incompatibilities, you could try polycrylic, or some type of automotive clear or enamel clear. Polyurethane will probably yellow it so it'll look bad.

Plasti dip doesnt just peal off. You have to rip it then pull on it so if it comes down to it you could use it. I have glossifier plasti dip over white plasti dip on my car wheels and it stays on.
