Pole length for short girls

I know there's a lot of threads out there about pole length but I'm only 5'4" and after looking through several threads I realized there was virtually no one under 5'7".

I have an old pair of poles that Im gonna cut down. I pretty much only ride park so I want them to be short but I'm not sure how short I should make them. I was thinking about 36-38" maybe. Any suggestions?

I would say you are in the right range there for sure. 38 inch is 85cm and I use a 100cm pole and I'm 15cm taller them you. So if you like a short pole but not silly short you should be good with 38inch.

I'd agree with the 38" length as well. And if you cut it to 38" first, then feel like they should be even shorter yet, you can cut them down without any issue. Easier to subtract than add.

well for regular skiing my poles are 43 inches, but for park they are 34inches, lol and im 6'1. soo ya 36 should be good for you

I'm 5'11 and my park poles are 34. I would go shorter for you. Like 30 would be good

Well the rule of thumb for pole length is if you hold it upside down with the basket resting on the top of your hand your elbow should be at about a 90 degree angle. Of course everyone has there preferences and for jumps a shorter length is better. Just go to a shop and see how different lengths feel, that's the best way to do it.

I am short too lol but I am a boy... How I measure my ski poles is, hold the pole first, put your arm at a 90 degree angle and if it isn't touching the ground they are good for park sking. :)

Any shop on the planet should be able to fit you for traditional poles, park poles are all about what you are comfortable with. How I decided what length I wanted to go with was by taking a yard-stick and using it to determine where I wanted my hands to be. I found that with my poles planted I wanted my hands just below my hips and my elbows bent slightly so that I could lean on them easily. It really doesnt matter as park poles really dont serve a whole lot of actual purpose beyond giving you something to do with your hands.

Im 5'5" and my poles are 38in. The length is pretty much perfect because its not ridiculously short, but theire not dragging on the snow either.
