Single and double in the same year?

I did OPs mom for the first and second time this year does that count?

a snowboarder friend did doubles the same day he landed his first single (and he barely knows how to snowboard)

if you gave no fucks and had access to an airbag you could probably do both in the same day if you really wanted too.

actually if you are not counting fronts and backs then it might take a bit longer but there are still probably people crazy enough.

It's 100% doable but there's no point unless you're feeling it. IF you aren't ready don't huck something stupid just so you can claim it. Honestly wouldn't be that epic of a claim anyway.

Get as comfortable with the singles as you can first. IF you ride a park with several jumps throw multiple ones in a run and really hammer them out everyday. If the single is something you could do in your sleep you're in way better shape for doing a dub version.

Especially if it's not a straight front or back. If you're rotating off axis you're going to want to have some idea where you dip in for the second invert.

I mean somebody could figure out how to hit a jump and then hit the biggest jump and huck a dub till they land it. Hell it might work but imo unnecessary risk. The last thing you want to do is screw up the rotation for the first and be opened up and spinning all fucked up going into the second and do a 1.5 er

I'd much rather learn both way single flips in a year then a single and double in a year.
Having sick looking both way rodeo's, misty's and cork spins etc is way better than being able to huck a shitty Dub Flat 7 IMO.

If you've got a the air awareness from tramping/gymnastics/other action sports, send it. If you're hucking it for the sake of claiming, enjoy severely injuring yourself.

I feel like a lot of people try doubles in the same year they learned singles on tramp. I did it after 3 months, (haven't landed one yet but I got 1.8ish/claim). Anyways, since the feel is very similar on snow to tramp, one could just motherhuck the chip out of it if they have melon sized nuts. Also, it helps living in an area where you can ski backcountry style terrain and build big jumps into deep powder.
