Just recently after skiing for a week on my new El reys I noticed that the base and edge had kind of split apart from the upper part of the ski. It is directly under the mounting screws and my theory is that the guy who mounted my ski's had not drilled the hole deep enough for the screws and when he mounted the bindings the screw pushed the base away splitting the to parts. Just wondering what people thought caused this, if it will effect my skiing and how I can fix it?
Below are pictures explaining the Splitting.
The crack is about the width of a fingernail and extends about 4 inches.
This shows what i think happened, the screws may have pushed the bace away from the top of the ski creating the split.
