Switch rodeo 540 help

I was at Summer ski camp and was working on them on the tramp alot but didnt get the chance to try it on snow due to the mountain being clised the last day.this would be my first Invert and any tips would e appriated

1. Trampoline is not going to help you very much.

2. do you have switch 5s perfect? If so just dip your shoulder it will not be a super flippy sw rodeo 5 instead it will look very clean and have a lot of style.

3.first invert?! do a backflip first.

actually misty 5's on a tramp are pretty good for getting the feel of sw rodeos

yeah I can see how it is different but if you turn your head like your going switch and kind of move backward while throwing the misty, it gives the feel of a sw rodeo

Thanks and i would do it un natural since i look over my left shoulder while switch and i have a backflip block but i just learned one on a tramp but i practiced on tramp by hopping 180 and then doing misty 5

Be patient. That's the biggest problem people have with switch tricks and if you aren't patient you'll either catch the lip or case the jump.

I spin to the right but am more comfterable throwing mistys to left aka i always stomp throwing them to left not so often to the right and on snow i spin left on switch tricks becausei look over left ahoulder

In all honesty the way I learned switch rodeos was just attempting them into an airbag, and then when I was comfortable I brought them to snow. But the main thing to be aware of is to not set the rotation too early.

I think joe_dirt has the idea here. Recommend learning a backflip first to get the feeling of being inverted.

Also,a misty 5 is the same trick on the tramp but I think feels very different from a switch rodeo on snow.

The way I learned was to do a few switch 5's, then start opening up my lead shoulder and slightly dipping the other shoulder. Don't force being too inverted at first, you'll get there if you do a few. Really important, as a few people noted, to not throw it early, and don't throw it hard. It's a floaty trick, trust that it'll come around.

definitely want to know the inverted feeling before going for a switch rodeo. Its all about keeping the swing in it when you go for the invert. You want to make sure you're not going to freak out halfway and be stuck upsidedown. I would also recommend doing a backflip on snow first. Make sure you are throwing them on a jump with a good lip too.

Do a flat 3 or rod 5 or misty. Much easier. Or just do a god damn backflip haha, it's by far the easiest.

I'm thinking of throwing a switch rod 5 this year. Having a back flip under your belt will give you a huge confidence boost, a flat three is similar to a backy but less scary so maybe a flat 3 is a good first invert?

I wouldn't start with a Flat 3, because if you straight away try learn flat 3's you'll probably end up just doing wackflips and it's a really bad habit to get into.

if its a powder landing i say huck it. but i would never do my first flip as a switch rode 5 mostly because when you first start doing flips with skis on the rotation is a lot different than without wheight on your feet and once you get in the air just realize you will probably black out and have no idea whats going on because you havent developed air awareness yet
