I ant to buy a pair of Moment belafonte's in a 187, but i can buy a pair of 182 for 400 $. I'm 6 foot 1 and weigh 160 pounds. I ski the east. I like to point it down the fall line, but I also spend a fair amount of time in trees and bumps. do you guys think 182, is too short
187s all day, youll appreciate the stability when maching the fall line much more than the tiny bit of manueverness youll lose in the trees. Im your size and can ride a 196 moment govy in the trees just fine. Boss up, your skiing will get way better.

This. I prefer longer skis, and ski 192 bentchetlers in the trees all day. They were more work than 183s would have been, but I am happy with my choice due to the added stability.
Also Moment measures 2cm short, so your 187 would really be a 185 etc.

unless op wants to stay on marked glades 187 probably won't be very fun.
^ The trees I ride at J-hole are waaaay tighter than those you posted buddy...like 2-3 feet inbetweeen the trunks.
And I like to think Im pretty damn decent at skiing. Not the best since Jackson is one of the meccas for big mtn skiing in the lower 48. Always someone crushing it, but many many years has me feeling pretty damn proficient on anything anywhere...insert smartass quote here..
That picture is incredibly generous to what you will actually be doing for tree skiing out east. You will end up in some incredibly tight shit that is simply not meant to be skied and short skis do help but at ops height the 187 is what he should be on.

I go to Jackson almost every year, and I live on the East Coast. The trees are significantly more spread out in Jackson; it's a whole different game.
