To the article, division of a country along sectarian boundaries under such volatile conditions (i.e. establishing numerous states essentially vacant of any wealth or substance or purpose) is seriously NOT good, and is only going to throw Iraq further into turmoil. Such a shame

The news has always been bunk. Now with the internet to get information you can see right through what mainstream news is doing. They get to choose what their viewers see and the government gets their say. It's why a video of a kid kicking a cat gets way more air time than any war in the middle east. You watch the news for an hour you would think the world is full of active shooters and child molesters. Is there crime? Sure.. But, we're not meant to deal with the problems of 8 billion people.

Sorry, I should have said some, or most.

And unfortunately that's really not the case. It's obvious most Americans are worryingly uncultured and intolerant, whether or not they consider themselves good, sincere people. In the rest of the world's case, everyone is well aware of america and it's workings, trust me - you do like to thrust yourselves in peoples faces through all forums, all the time, to make everyone aware of your presence and supposed importance. It's just, I think a lot of people don't care, and find America quite boring to be honest.
So don't confuse lack of understanding with lack of interest.

Also, no shit. You're clearly confused about how and where caliphates have historically begun and how they establish themselves. This conflict is being moulded by ISIS/ISIL to be a sectarian one (again), and a typical function of that sort of conflict is the eventual drawing of sectarian boundaries.
