casualI totally disagree with you
jackdonovanWell, if the idea is to make the place look attractive to potential customers, also known as campers, then it would be great to show them campers and how good they are and how much fun they are having and make them want to go to camp, instead of just showing pros who they already know are good.
MinggI see where you're coming from and I completely agree. I would love to see more camper edits from camps.
However when I went to Woodward for the first time when I was like 9, I didn't care how much I was gonna learn. I think I cared more about like who was gonna be there and I wanted to see/ train with some of the bet gymnasts at the time.
I think this kind of thing varies from person to person. But when your 9-13(which is how old most campers are) riding with pros means a shit ton. At least that's how I looked at it when I was younger. Maybe I'm wrong?
jackdonovanI defintely see what you mean, but i went to Windells when i was 14 so I still wanted to meet pros, but the reason i went there was because i wanted to learn more and wasnt really fanboying over pros, plus Keefer was my coach and at video review we shared cabins with Fostfed and Steve Stunt so i met some pros.
L_Bmore of you should be mad about the drug testing.
Julius_SteezerYeah I guess we're not gonna get a sweet trollin windells episode this summer then
L_Bi mean, more than that, a lot of good people smoke weed, especially living at Mt.Hood in the summer. A lot of people I would want my kid to be around, especially considering it's legal status and its future. I wouldn't want them smoking with or in front of my kid, but seeing the stoner skier culture is part of the reason I would want my kid to be at Windells in the first place.
Just seems very shortsighted of them to right off such a large portion of their potential coaches.
Big_MtnI asked a few people about it and I really liked Colby Albino's response... I don't remember it all word for word but the general point was that it's about how bad you want to work there. If you want the job enough then you quit 30 days before the drug test. If you can't do that then you must not want the job that bad. Windells is going to hire people that really are passionate about working for them. If you can't make an adjustment in your life to do that, then Windells would rather hire other people anyways.
L_BAnd I get that it's about earning a coveted job, but i don't want my kid learning from a square rule following try-hard at summer camp. They get that in school every day already.
THEDIRTYBUBBLEI mean, some people just don't like smoking weed, an that makes them a square rule following try-hard?
