at my school distruct, parents can view their kids grades online:

my mom: I see you havnt turned in that essay yet

me: no but i have a 81%, not gonna get much better then that at this point

my mom: yes but you should be doing everything you can to get your grades up

me: ya but even with a 100% on that essay, as opposed to the 0 that i have now, i would have like an 83% in that class instead of an 81.

my mom: yes but you need to be doing everything you can be. as long as i see your trying, tha tis ok, but when there are whole assignments that arnt turned in, im going to have to keep checking on you.

back when i was in hs my math teacher would call your parents if you didnt do half a problem on your math homework. if you fucked up even more, he would get your parents permission (he had some kids parents in his class back in the day) and beat your ass with a shaved down bassball bat made into a paddle. then you got to sign it.

last year my spanish teacher gave a kid an unexcused detetion because he was 1 minute late coming back from the bathroom. 4 minutes instead of 3 got him a detention...

but she moved so its better now.... just get good grades and everything will be good.

but i was surprised that NOT doing an essay at all wouldnt hurt your grade more than a couple of points?

my school doesn't have online grades but it is pretty gay. If you get 2 tardies then you have a 1 hour after school detention. Every tardy after that is a detention till the 7th then you an in school suspension for a day. Also if you skip a block without being signed out or excused you get an in school suspension as well.....which almost makes sense because you SKIP a block and then you get an in school SUSPENSION and miss 4 blocks.......

haha, that sucks, at my hs, I chose to take calsses at the community college. I don't have to go to my classes, take my tests, or show anybod my grades. I smoke a bowl during my break between classes...oh, and I'll graduate with my AA and hs diploma; high as a kite and a step ahead of all the sober kids who stayed in the regular HS :D

its not like i have done 100% on everything else in that class.

and ay, the reason i didnt do it was becuase i knew that it was only a 50 pt assignment. basically we read a whole book and all we get for credit is a 50 pt assingment. that is crap, im not going to spend all that time reading a book for 50 pts.

same, can't skip cause you get a call home. if it's unexcused, the next day the attendance guy comes to your class and gives you a detention slip. you can't be in the halls at all unless you have a note. and there are a ton of things you can't do if your grades are down.

My school calls home when I skip too, but I just tell my parents I was late for class... and my teacher's don't even usually notice when I'm gone so they don't care. It's good like that at my school... easy to keep your parents in the dark.

my first period is awsome. he takes attendance at the end of class (or sometimes after that) and so if your there at the end he counts you there. it got me in the habit of bing late for school.

yeah you can if you read until the book starts to drag spark notes it read the end and write an essay i dont think i've read one entire book this year for my ap english class, which is equivalent to a college freshman class, and i do fine you just have to know how to write a good paper. what book was it?
