What skis should I get? Line Opus, Faction Candide 4.0, or Line Sick Day 125?

I'm not an active poster to NS, but I know this community has a lot of good information to offer.

My name is Christian, I live and ski mostly in MICHIGAN, with occasional trips to Park City. I am looking for skis that will handle POWDER/BOWLS as much as GROOMERS and a little park. My current pair of skis is the K2 Extreme from many years back and I am looking for a ski that will handle 30% Park, and 70% all mountain/bowls/powder. I also am looking for pretty playful and poppy ski.

I put the skis I have looked at in the poll below.

I am 17, 6'2.5" and 180 lb.

Any advice is appreciated!

of the skis listed from what you describe, either the faction 3.0 or the kartels.

the others are pretty much all pow specific, i.e pretty wide minimal to no camber and realtively soft - not ideal for all mountain or any park skiing

i'd also look into the faction 2.0 since you most likely won't be skiing much deep pow

Definitely, either Kartels or sick day 110, check my reviews, I did one on the Kartel. Also factions could be great, haven't seen much on them, the others are overkill

From what little I have heard on the 3.0....I hear they are pretty great.

Yeah, I have heard similar things but nothing first hand so I didn't want to pass out incorrect info.

Take a look into the Shreditor 102, it is the perfect ski for everything. I have used it from spring park laps to waist deep pow and it performed great .

Thanks for this! I think I will probably go with the Candide 3.0 because I want a ski with a wider midfoot for the big dump day when I go west or north to college.

Yeah, I live out west and I have never needed more than 110 under foot, Yeah, there are days when it could be nice but I wouldn't sacrifice versatility for that.

Faction 2.0 or Kartel 106 because you're not going to want anything fatter with the places you ski at.

.MASSHOLE.Blizzard Peacemaker is another ski you should consider


Next year's 3.0 is on a whole new level in my opinion. They put 1mm of camber in, a tiny bit less less rocker, so it is much more versatile, like the 3.zero, but is still lighter and a tad more soft snow oriented. That thing is dialed in. Personally, I wouldn't usually recommend a ski that wide for the conditions you describe, but I can tell you firsthand that they are one of the most versatile skis on the market.

The Kartel 106 and Peacemakers are both great picks as well, both softer than the Candide but in that waist range that I would suggest. Fun skis.
