Replying to Air conditioning costs.

ESAND:
So I've never lived in a house with central AC before. First because I lived in seattle where nobody has ac and then every place I've been has had room by room air conditioning with individual units.

Well I just moved into a new place and it has central air, it also doesn't appear to be the worlds most insulated so I'm thinking that I'll be probably paying out the ass for AC. Especially since it gets hot here and I can't stand anything above about 72.

Is there anyway to calculate how much AC will cost or should I just wait for it to surprise me. The house is about 2800 sq ft, poured concrete construction. As I said doesn't seem to be incredibly well insulated. The AC unit says 5 TR 60000 btu/hr, compressor 400V start up 35 Amps, load 8.8 amps. Interior Fan 220V 5.5 amps. Exterior fan 220V 2.3 amp.

There is also appears to be no zone control so its cool the whole house or nothing.
