I caught a monster a few years ago I can't find the picture right now I'll have to get on that tho. I love fishing. I don't get to do much bass fishing. Usually go after walleye in the summer and steelhead in the winter. But right on Alex you've been killin em. If I ever make my way out to Ct you'll have to show me some of your spots.

April ice fishing in CT, nothin big but had to chase ice like 45 minutes away, fun to be out ice fishing when peopel are open water fishing an hour away:
If you want catch more smallies its fairly simple. Find rock piles in your lake, no matter the depth. Throw your lures (hell even bobber fish) at the biggest rock (preferably boulder size) in that rock pile and you will slaughter them. Smallies are pound for pound the hardest fighting fish, so hold onto your rod and enjoy the rod.

I fish a lot, not necessarily just for bass but since I live in southern NY it's usually what I get. I don't take many pictures since I'm mostly by myself when i fish, but I've got some big ones over the years. There are some lakes in Tuxedo Park that don't get fished much and I've pulled some 6+ pound largemouth out of there. I haven't been fishing as much recently and this thread really wants to make me get back at it.

Hell yeah man NY has some great bass fishing. the Bass Nation (i suggest being a member BTW) last year wen to NY and i watching the live streams of the weigh ins, PIGS were being caught. NY is smallmouth heaven it seems!
2 of my favorite pro-bass fisherman last year fishing in NY on the St. Lawrence
it's actually a really big thing, more in the south though. bass fishing is now a big thing in HS down there where schools compete against each other and what not. As well as collegiate bass fishing which is shown on ESPN, it's also a growing sport, not in the northeast YET.
when i'm older I really want to be a big tournament bass fisherman, professional or not.

Good lure? You can never go wrong with a crankbait, they work consistently year round. Summer I'd go with any kind of softbait, but for me im still throwing hardbaits in the summer just in deep water.
I mean i live within a mile of a lake and i have a boat. There really is no reason why i shouldn't be out fishing almost everyday. Im gonna have to get the boat out so i can show Frenchy's ass up!

There isn't an end all do all crankbait. You need to get different ones for shallow, medium and deep water, and thats a lot of money to complete the collection.
If I were to get one crankbait though itd be either a rapala clackin rap, or strike king redeye shad
I'd say to start out fish a texas or wacky rigged plastic worm and a jig similar to this:
and a worm or other plastic bait. cant beat a curly tailed worm, but tubes and creature baits work well too. If you are fishing a murky lake choose a darker colored plastic. Clearer lake a natural looking plastic
