I love bass fishing! My extended family shares a cabin up north in Minnesota on a small lake and we go up there in the summer and slay fish.
Here's a picture of one of the bigger largemouth bass I've caught. Pardon the awful facial expression and horrendous image quality, the picture was taken on an ipod touch years ago. The bass was 19.5", 4.5 lbs.

As far as your ideas, you just have to cast a wider net and tackle them one at a time--let them bobber round in your head a little bit and see what bites, you're bound to catch onto something without reaching your limit.

Yeah that's a largemouth, where do you fish? Smallies tend to live in rivers/streams or lakes with rocky bottoms, also liking cooler water. larry's will go anywhere no matter how shitty the water is haha
