Yeah I know there were some rant threads over the years grinds my gears and whatever. I don't think any of them were that happening to dig up. I probably made one of them honestly. Whatever.

I figured if we could rant somewhere we'd be more docile creatures in the rest of the forums.

Yeah for sure. I'm not anti partying but just be clean. Also if you're living with other people party elsewhere. If you want to do a few rails from time to time who cares, just clean shit up. Even when they left for 3 weeks there was a big picture with probably a few tenths on it at least and a bunch of rolled up singles. Classy as fuck.

Pretty much just comes down to being respectful in general. If you're a decent human, not loud as fuck, clean up after yourselves, who cares if you're loud sometimes, party sometimes, messy sometimes. It's just when it's all the time. Kind of over it.

Was going to move but I'm just gonna ride out the season here. I'll know more people for next season so I can pool in on a good place with more space and less shitty people.

I mean if your throwing up from drinking that’s understandable, but when u r in a situation where ppl r doing hard drugs it would be kinda whack. Like those cats are unpredictable as hell, u don’t know the kind of ppl they’d bring over, u really can’t trust em with ur shit, etc.

Don't really like working with anyone over the age of 40 at all tbh.

Most of these "old timers" are just retirees/trust fund baby boomers here for a free pass but get all butthurt when they don't get their way or the schedule they want or if some younger co worker doesn't do what they want them to do. Pretty much given up on requesting schedule changes, clearly this old fogey couple that mostly works nights here doesn't wanna budge at all. Kind of a shame but don't expect me to cover anyone's ass this season.

This old lady I worked with once wanted Full time status and benefits but also wanted to take off the entire last half of November and all of December to visit her family and go to Europe for Christmas. But millennials are entitled, right?

One of my textbooks last semester actually classified boomers as the most entitled generation....it made me chuckle

Fuck this place sometimes, sub zero temperatures and they still want us washing customer cars. Also kinda ridiculous they're not saying no to customers who didn't schedule appointments but call asking for one on the same day. we pride ourselves way to fucking much here, everyone already knows were a top dealer in the US.

Of course on the coldest week so far it's packed everyday, and they're all caked in salt and shit too which is nice.

My supervisor should NOT be working in customer service.

She is rude, mean and overall unpleasant to customers and it is so cringe to watch. I get that she knows the policies and stuff better than the rest of us, but that is no excuse to be a fucking drill sergeant to customers. Our job isn't to discipline, punish, etc customers for not knowing what our policy is. Our job is to use our policy to make it work for the customer and get them the shit they need as effectively as possible.

Saying things to customers like "well this is our policy" is AWFUL unless you can provide a substantial solution to their issue that makes them happy AND follows policy. Example: A customer stayed at the hotel and got discounted lift tickets. Lessons come with lift tickets so we would sell a lesson only deal. Due to a snowstorm they arrived late and hadn't had time to check in so they hadn't gotten their lift tickets yet - they wanted to get them through our desk. Sure, policy is to check in first and get the tickets from the hotel, but we can call the hotel, confirm their reservation and move forward. All it takes is a phone call and every policy and need for all parties is addressed and adhered to appropriately - not exactly to a T but sufficient to have a happy customer, which is what should be our goal. Of course there are situations where we can't break policy but there are ways we can make it easier for the customer(and ourselves) so that in the end there is little to no conflict.

FUCK. I literally want to hide my face while some of these people are talking to customers. I've held myself back from running outside to personally apologize for the rudeness they experienced through our desk. I have no authority to give them anything monetarily speaking but fuck these people deserve a degree of respect and they simply are not getting it.

Side note:

CUSTOMER SERVICE IS SO MUCH EASIER WHEN YOU SIMPLY ACKNOWLEDGE CUSTOMER CONCERNS AND RECOGNIZE THEY HAVE LEGITIMATE QUESTIONS,COMMENTS, ETC. EVEN IF THEY DON'T.

Customers are much nicer to you and simply empathizing with them makes them feel like they are heard and like you really are doing something about it - even if there is no tangible solution. Being nice makes it 1000000% easier and if not, you're either 1 a shitty company overall or 2 a bad customer service rep.

Also, the backcountry is really scary COULD REALLY USE SOME BIG DUMPS TO LOWER THIS TEMPERATURE GRADIENT THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

I bought pizza and beer tonight. The pizza sucks, the beer sucks harder. FML

On the plus I got some free groceries from the mtn. That's pretty sweet. Would be more dope if people got paid enough to live but that's probably never going to happen in the ski industry. $3 all you can eat dinners start bi weekly on monday but I'm switching to grave shift satnight/sunmorning so I'll just miss ever going to one of those. That would be chill to do if I was working days or swing.

Maybe one day I'll somehow stay away long enough to take advantage of that.

of course the fucking east coast winter hurricane has to miss all my favorite spots and the spots it did hit are going to get hit with fucking -10 degree temps you ever try skiing in that shit youre sweating buckets on the skintrack or in the lodge from all youre wearing and then you get to the top and i have to take 10 min breaks on the way down to warm my hands to avoid frostbite bc i just blew all my money on touring skis and can't get warmer gloves until somebody buys my bindings fuck

The roommate did something cool and made a dank soup with some of the free groceries I brought home from the mountain.

But the roommates were also the usual and were loud as fuck when I was trying to sleep. Just switched to grave shift. Ended up working it on no sleep. Was not so chill. I'll cut a motherfucker if they try that shit tonight.

For fuck sake these ladies upstairs who don't deal with our shit need to learn to not let our daily appts fill up. Whole shop is stressed to shit cause people wanna bring their cars in for simple shit without a schedules appointment and it just fucks with being able to get the actual appointment cars done. Glad I'm on my own all week too, risking going home on time by being on lunch right now but I need it. can't wait to leave at 430 or earlier no matter what tomorrow.

agreed, the biggest gripe of resort work. ive been stuck with at least one dipshit person from wherever the fuck (clearly here on some sort of trust fund or money from the parents) that doesn't really have to worry about shit so doesn't try and figures out way to get to go home early all the time or get their shifts moved around when the rest of us fight for days off when family comes in to ski for a week.


hot girl entitlement needs to stop, too. theres this 22 year old blonde girl that I work with that my one manager clearly wants to fuck and lets her have free reign over anything because she has a nice ass or whatever. shes gotten multiple days off on a whim, gets to leave early all the time, and just sits on the office on her phone swiping on tinder. she loves to use the "could you guys do that for me? cuz im a lazy piece of shit and let dumbass guys do shit for me cuz im hot?" nah fuck off, honey.

Physics class in the middle of ski season really fucking sucks. And it sucks even more because I haven't had the math most of my classmates have had, so they are way ahead of me. I'm gonna be working my ass off for 2 months in the middle of a great winter just so I don't fail.

I don't always sleep, but when I do, it sure as fuck isn't when my roommates are home.


Also some lady rolled a stop sign with a no looker right turn and I had the suby full sideways with a drift around her. She was totally oblivious.
