Yeah I know there were some rant threads over the years grinds my gears and whatever. I don't think any of them were that happening to dig up. I probably made one of them honestly. Whatever.

I figured if we could rant somewhere we'd be more docile creatures in the rest of the forums.

I asked the lady at the post office in Poland for international stamps. But I think she just gave me stamps from Poland to anywhere..if that's possible? But I've now sent out 9 post cards that have been lost in the mail. That shit gets expensive. I guess it's my fault for not clarifying on what stamps I wanted though. Just irritating.

All my friends went to college and I'm stuck here until October. I fucked up my ankle so I cant skate. I've been working 12 hour days doing nothing but mind-numbing manual labor. haha I know this is the rant thread, but dealers are not 24/7 weed vending machines. I have very strict rules as for how to contact me, I require 12 hours advance notice among several other things

I have the same issue, 2 partners in crime I know are terrible at replying but are the most convenient for me. For one of them I use to wait at most 3 days before getting what I needed but at times it was reasonable he couldn't meet. His partner however you'd hit up and next week you'd get a reply and then 4 days later you might have some nug. I switched to a kid who helps move their shit because he was actually trying to make money in the game so he'd respond and meet within 30 minutes 9/10 times, trying to get a new one cause their bud ain't even good anymore.

Every store specialist I have dealt with has no clue what they're talking about in their department. I was at best buy asking specific questions about a computer and the most the guy answered with was just generic stuff like, "Yeah, that's a fast enough computer for you." Ok, thanks, can you give me details? Are there better options??

Same goes for those so called "Experts at Scheels". I haven't interacted with a single store clerk who can answer specific questions on anything yet. I was asked by a manager if I worked there because I knew more info on their current ski gear than their "expert". And that was at their headquarters store...

When I was at Gander selling guns, I gave the customer every necessary detail, and answered every question with as much information as I could in order to steer them from a mediocre firearm to a much higher quality (and more expensive, ie. more commission) one.

If there are any ski dealers out there who want someone who can blow the socks off their customers with straight answers, hire me...or maybe I should run for office.

Yeah my homie works at Best Buy, he says he sells TVs and stuff but it seems like he doesn't have to know jack shit for the job but idk, my work sells furniture and sometimes I'm put in there and customers want some specific shit I can't tell them about. They never trained me for it, so maybe places do that but at a ski store it's more of a niche thing, you don't work there without at least being a skier.

I work at wegmans which is a grocery store on the east coast. Comparable to whole foods. And i get questions about specific shit and 99% of the time i tell them i have no fuckin idea about shit here. I show up, put fuckin shit on a shelf, and go home. Super lame and shitty job but its money in my pocket and i make more doing that then i would waiting tables or whatever. But I guess if i worked at best buy i would definitely try and get as much knowledge on products as possible so i can help people out. But thats just because im interested in technology and not what tahini is used for.

definitely hyped to go back to school after this winter. Decided im gonna just dedicate one more winter to skiing and try and get as much out of it as possible then go back and hit the books hard. Realized im not getting anywhere working a shitty part time job and the fact that ill be 22 in the spring is really like wow..time flies. But im thankful i took so much time off school, really put life into perspective and ill be able to go back to school with a better mindset than i did when i was 18.

Yeah I'm almost 21, not in school, and I work part time. Since I'm not in school and don't plan on it for at least a year or so I should be full time. Gonna try and do another east coast season with a long UT trip hopefully, but then I wanna get to salt lake by next year and live there while doing some community college courses and working, all my homies are out there besides 3 of us and I'm trying to be the first out of here.

Similar situation here. Got 3 homies finishing associates at home and want to pursue bachelors at the U. Gonna either do a semester here then transfer or just go to slicc and transfer to the U. HMU when you go out to Utah maybe we can link up. Funny we were both at snogression and never said what up to each other lol
Definitely gotta set my roots in salt lake before I'm 25. If I'm still I'm NY by then somebody shoot me

My fucking legs especially my left still feel cramped up from my last flights. Did a 10.5 hour from joburg to london and 2 hours later an 8 ish from london to philly.

Maybe I'll go for a walk today today to try and make it feel normal. I have long as legs and get all tangled like a pretzel sometimes when I fly. I can walk fine and stuff but it just feels uncomfortable.

Sleeping on a couch thats shorter than me probably isn't.That said I'l be out of here in a day or two and head somewhere with a bed. That might be enough to do the trick.

Ask your mates out there about jobs. Or work at a ski area for a year to get a pass and income sorted before you move out. Then look into employee housing or ask people if they have/know of anything.

Only in Colorado I don't have friends, one of my childhood homies is in denver but we just don't talk. My best friends are mostly in SLC and waiting very patiently for me to come out there, I can easily find work because since I'm where I wanna be I'll commit to making sure I'll stay, some resort connections but wouldn't be more than summer maintenance or being a liftie, but the free pass saves so much for me. I'm fine with an east coast season again because although I was alone, last year was pretty awesome. I also should probably get my car fixed or replaced before I'd go out, I'd be on a whole other schedule than my friends so I'd probably want one. The drive out there could be an ender for it though. I also don't have the money at least to start off for a month or two there, and will only have a room if I save enough to split it 3 ways.

I seriously don't understand some customers, who the fuck comes into a Big Lots after 8 on a gorgeous Saturday night? I swear people just don't have lives. Every time I close I don't acknowledge customers after 830 until I ring them out or have some stupid fucking question to ask, even all my managers do the same. I still try to be polite but if they push me they're gonna get an attitude.
Shoutout to the fucking pill addict for calling out so she could have the whole weekend off while I now am actually scheduled to close again tomorrow. Please god let me pass this piss test soon so I can get out of work at 4:30 everyday and deal with less people.



Also fuck apples autocorrect, it helps at times but 90% of the time it fucks my sentence up.

Nah but i had a bad experience with the bastards as a kid.

Just got beaten up while mowing my parents lawn. Motherfuckers got me on my lip as well. Fuckers. Also one on my foot was pissimg me off cause I jut had sandals and it was rubbing.

I didn't even realize I got stung anywhere else at first. I felt the lip and yelled "WHAT THE FUCK!!!!" and threw the lawnmower. Well more pushed the mower angrily away while cursing the world.

Damn bees got me good. Fuck them. Fuck them all.

I know they say the world depends on them but fuck the world, fuck the bees. If I finish the lawn here tomorrow and get stung again I'm going on a lifelong campaign to exterminate those god awful creatures.

First month employees will make mistakes, sometimes cause minor headaches for supervisors/managers but thats what new employees do; you work out the fucking kinks, learn, and become better.

Well not in the eyes of my front office manager. I made a few small minor mistakes recently and tonight she basically threatened my job saying she might have to switch me departments or outright fire me. Shes been on a warpath, too. She also fired my co-worker today on the spot for some grievances. It was a back and forth ordeal where he actually expressed his frustration with the management and her as a whole and she went ahead, reported him to HR, and got him fired.

Im honestly extremely dissapointed and upset that this opportunity I thought was going to be awesome is turning out not to be, and its not even ski season yet.

Its an entirely different mindset to approach things with a "trying not to get fired" feeling vs. actually wanting to do a good job for the sake of kicking ass at your job.

What the fuck.

i love the cottonwoods but i do yearn for a change of pace, a new place, and new mountains to shred. Its not off the table, but in time i need to further explore the west more.

Its just a shame man how some shit can ruin what seems to be an awesome opportunity. Now im in a fucking real bind. I moved out and finally dealing with real shit as a adult in both terms of work life and relationships and its just hard man. Sometimes I just want to fucking go, pack my truck up with gear and food and shit and just run till theres no end, you know?

Tahoes on the list and believe me, Ill be visiting you tahomies one way or another.

Thank god im leaving this place, second time this week this fucking girl called out and I've had to stay for her, mostly cause it's been nice out and she wants to get fucked up on her pills I bet. A 5 1/2 hour shift isn't that fucking hard to deal with our managers work double that everyday and do way more work.
