Yeah I know there were some rant threads over the years grinds my gears and whatever. I don't think any of them were that happening to dig up. I probably made one of them honestly. Whatever.

I figured if we could rant somewhere we'd be more docile creatures in the rest of the forums.

In general I can't really talk shit about parks.

That said a mountain that I used to work at thinks that instead of building a cohesive park that fits the mountain and the people who ride it, building a giant possibly sketchy booter is what will bring people in.

They also completely half assed their rail jam setup with far more staff than I had. I think some of that was the huge focus on the jumps, again jumps that don't fit the mountain and most people there will not be able to ride.

There are some great kids there, that's why I returned even knowing it was probably a terrible choice. That said 67'(waiting to here the real number) is not something you put in your ONLY park. I believe the park has 4 rails and 4 jumps right now. So out of 4 jumps, 1 is almost 70 feet with no smaller option?

Also they're claiming on facebook. "biggest jump in the east". I would rather hit a well built jump in the 35'- 55' range than something not built as well. People were actually calling out inferno at mount snow. Those jumps probably are the best in the east consistently. at least in the top 3 every year for XL jumps if not. Mount snow has a ton of kids who kill it, yet inferno barely gets traffic. Most people are sending it through the medium and large parks.

So now a mountain that doesn't have that demographic, thinks that building a big jump, is going to take their park to the next level. Sure they'll be able to do a photoshoot and maybe draw in a few people(am I'm sure that's the plan) but come on guys.

That mountain should have anything over 40' 45' tops. Then again what the hell do I know. It's not like I pay attention to this stuff obsessively and build stuff for a living.

I was actually trying to stay stoked for them because I always love to see a park succeed, but if you're going to call somebody out who knows their shit, you better deliver on your end. A 67' jump is nothing more than a claim fest. And after seeing all their facebook posts, it's quite obvious that was the goal.

Idk, it just doesn't make sense to me. If you want to claim something, build a good park. You could build an 80' jump, or a 70' rail, and that doesn't mean your park is sick.

This is why even the biggest parks in the world have small stuff for noobs all the way up. These places put as much time into their small/medium stuff as they do the large/xl. These are places that host pro contests and have a extremely good people riding the parks on the regular. They still put the effort into the small/medium stuff because that's what most of the people are, and you need the progression.

I hate seeing mtns lost as far as parks, but it really gets to me when the same mountains are dicks about it.

Hoping they send some of their staff to cutters camp so they can learn what the hell is going on in this industry.

People with retarded money arent the most jovial and are extremely dull ive come to learn. These people are also incredibly good at having tax shelters which is brilliant but also infuriating so ill always laugh whenever i hear them rip on poor people for taking advantage of the system. Same shit, different toliet. They just have more things than the poor.


Also hate any taxi/transportation/shuttle driver. These dudes are yahoos and are huge cunts and i dont feel bad for getting a driver blacklisted from all of our resort properties

Sometimes parks are just planned by baboons and there's nothing you can really do. Like with my home mountain's park, unless you like 3 foot 4" high flat bars/boxes placed on a borderline parking lot slope, you're just out of luck

Thankfully work scheduled me for 6 days out of nowhere and 5/6 shifts are 5 hours or less and are right between the time I could go ski somewhere good and make it back for a closing shift. So looks like Im gonna be night skiing for an hour at my shitty hill this week, or use my yard rails....

2 of my roomates are dope. One is fresh, like fresh as fuck out of oakland. Came here cause his uncle cooks at snowmass. But Jesus this guy sucks.

First day I was here he was tripping and wandering around, in and out, knocking on peoples doors, having to get brought back to our room.

Drinks other peoples booze, and literally just looks in the fridge for food, but I don't think he's ever bought food.

Luckily he's a pussy and hates beer.

Idk not a fan. Not sure why the fuck he's in a ski town. Go back to Oakland.

So my doucher roommate got fired. I feel for people, i really do. But this guy is trying to start shit with anyone right now. Was laying into my roommates who worked with me and I stepped in and shut it down and told him to fuck off. He needed to hear it.

It sucks to lose your job. If you wasnt to be pissed be pissed, vent, whatever. But don't start shit with people that didn't do anything to you.

Fuck, I lent him my laptop today when I needed it so he could apply for jobs and shit. ended up being like 3 hours. But I didn't complain about it. Was down to help him out. But if you're going to talk shit to me, and then I call you out and you've got nothing to say? Fuck you.

Don't fucking step to me with some bullshit problem, and then not even be able to articulate what the fuck is going on. If you have a problem, make it known but nobody has time for bullshit. Leave your fucking bullshit at the door.

I felt a bit bad for him even though him getting fired was his fault, but now fuck him. Stoked he's gone in 3 days. I'll still buy him a bus ticket if he needs because im a nice guy, but jesus fuck he's pushing his luck.

Don't be a fucking douche. If you're wondering why people aren't treating you well, look first at yourself. Also we've been feeding him, he's been drinking our booze, and everyone has been more than nice to him.

tru. employers who don't do a very good job at accommodating employees who are sick are equally at fault. Especially in service jobs where you're in constant contact with co workers, customers, food, etc. Seriously one person gets sick and then the whole staff is sick and its gross.

kinda sucks getting sent home too. Ive been cut loose from work multiple days.

This dude somehow lost his keys (on purpose i think) and then stole a ceramic plate from the condo he was staying in and is holding it hostage till we send him his keys which doesnt make sense cuz i think he purposely lost his keys and just wanted to make a statement of sorts.

I almost want to find a storm drain or a portapotty to throw them down.

I thought my roommate stole my laundry detergent but felt bad about saying anything with no proof. Figured I left it somewhere last semester and was being a cunt for not taking responsibility.

But today I went to my friends to do laundry(first time I've been here to do it - my roommate does her laundry here all the time though) AND LO AND BEHOLD MY FUCKING DETERGENT IS HERE. And I know it's fucking mine because it's the Safeway brand that isn't sold here and I bought it in Oregon this summer. So fuck her. I hadn't opened it yet and the whole thing was gone.

It makes me mad because I make less than half of what she makes with all the same expenses and she still steals from me. Then complains about money when she is doing much better than I am and it's fucking frustrating.

Even better if it's really loud and not english. I mean, hell, why not talk on the phone all fucking day, loud as fuck, to somebody who's not there.

I'm going to find a guy to kick it here. Aladin. Speaks broken english and fluent arabic. Like long phone calls with his parents, and blasting steppin wolfs magic carpet ride. Also has an obnoxious pet bird he brings around with him.

Oh fuck him. Been liftying for a couple months now and I'm already so over entitled idiots who think only people in red coats have any authority on the mountain. I'm not trying to be a dick, man, I'm trying to keep you safe around these heavy metal flying benches.

i feel the same way. i don't want to see people hurt but if youre not gonna listen to our rules after being told, then assume the risks and do not come for my head when something bad happens.

like in a perfect world, patrol would just let dumb gapers who go out of bounds get buried and die, but in reality someone has to ultimately put their own life in harms way to go get them. so you gotta do something about that.
