Yeah it was a pain but was happy to get it done. Was gonna be hella pissed if it didn't let me submit it.

Hopefully it gets accepted. I guess a few people on the crew got denied this year

my boss is chill and lets the coworkers do their carts and vapes or whatever tf it is lol. he had to let a guy go a few years ago cus he was a drunk tho. (we put up tents for events like weddings and fairs etc)



i need a raise it'll be my 4th summer with him and it's still 15/hr, im scared he'll just say no tho because he hires illegal immigrants sometimes haha. he like, pays the head immigrant money and then that guy gives my boss the workers for the day so it's basically slavery 😭

Good on your but it's 2025 for christs sake. Second hand cigarette smoke is one thing but dipping or pouching even vaping is not hurting anyone else and gives the user a nice little boost. Witnessing animal abuse day in and day out cannot be good for me in the long term. Thankfully I’m taking a 10 day vacation next month without any dogs or cats or birds or anything that will make me think of work. Having so many abuse cases at once has made me a miserable human paired alongside watching my favorite dog have an emergency then be with him while he was put down from said medical emergency has fucked me up this month. My job is so hard emotionally— most of my friends and family tell me they can’t do it and I’m burnt out at the moment. I can’t even see my four dogs without sobbing the second i get home.

joinin the dunking on engineers,

my roomate has been pissing me the fuck off. Hes gotten so crusty these past 2 years, unfortunately right after we have moved in.

His ego complex is nuts, for example we were discussing with some other engineers what the GPA is to graduate, and he was set on 2.3 and getting pissed they were saying its acc 2.0. Let me tell you these other guys would know. Lo and behold hes wrong, and was salty the rest of the day.

Hes constantly comparing grades and nagging me abt assignments and dates, like hes micromanaging my ass. god forbid i take a rest, as he would never.

this morning I said i was studying with our other roomate for an upcoming exam, and he said "why would you do that? he got so much worse on the midterm than you." like bro i just want the motivation to study and you know explaining concepts is a great way to know them yourself.

he was drunk once and finally opened up abit abt his thoughts, and confided he could never see himself battling in war cuz his mind is too valuable.

obv this is all his worse qualities and hes got really good ones, but he acts like hes the smartest in the room all the time. And theres a reason im always excited to go back home and get away from all the engineers to my friends who are not.

This is why I was trying to work for the government, at least before this whacky admin.

If you get past probation, those 3 letters have a lot juicier time off and pay structure than most of the companies I’ve applied to/interviewed with over the past year or so.

Friend of mine has like 66 days saved up, even with taking a vacation here or there. Those feds get allllll the holidays to. Most companies just do Labor/Memorial Day, 4th of July, Thanksgiving and Christmas

and as a bonus i experienced mild sleep paralysis for the first time. legit like i am awake, cannot move or scream eyes open. i didnt see the hat man in my room but felt a terror. also my ears were ringing quite loud as it happened.

I have had it in dreams before but this time i was awake while it happened. super weird 7/10 experience.

and there was definitely someone standing in the corner coming toward me and I couldn't move.

Now i know why people believe in demons.

Shit is nuts. on a scary scale it's a 9/10 for me.

Instagram needs to get a hold of the sexual content they’re allowing on their platform. As I scroll down there’s usually a ‘threads’ section where they show you a new posts to their new forum app. Theres usually some interesting ones so I often scroll through to see what there is. And WITHOUT fail there is always some post of someone promoting some type of sexual content. I’ll often report these or do the ‘not interested’ button but they always come back. Obviously the algorithm knows I’ll be tempted by this shit at some point and they pretty much force it on me. It’s crazy Meta can get away with this like take a step back and think about how widely used Instagram is, they should absolutely not be allowing this type of shit.


it just pisses me off like what has the world come to social media is just retarded now a days, thankfully we have NS where actual sane people can discourse in peace

oo yeah sleep paralysis is very fucked. Had it once. Did not like it. I will sleep less easy tonight now that you have reminded me of it.

For me, I felt awake but like I was drowning. Obviously, I was breathing because I was conscious, but it felt like I wasn't breathing and my brain was in full panic. I tried thinking of "raising my arm," but my arm didn't move. Tried saying something and couldn't say anything, yet was incredibly aware the whole time—some weird shit for sure.

I feel this I struggle with the same thing. I can live without skiing while injured but when I can’t even do basic forms of exercise for long periods of time I find myself sorely missing those endorphins. My sleep quality suffers as well

Wild seeing jumps or rail sets that would be sus 20 years ago still happening at mtns today. I get it with some places with no resources that are small and don't know. But def hard to see places that have had good setups putting out some garbage.

Hell me and a buddy built a nice step down 06/07 at gore woth shovels, no spork even to shape the transition, and half the snow was farmed from the trees with a square point.

Idkthe machines are so solid right now and the knowledge is out there. I guess thats why I'm still doing this shit. I hate seeing bullshit and want to make things as nice as I can.

Idk. I'm not an expert but damn. I wish I could teleport and if people some tips. Not in an asshole judgy way but honest tips to help them out.

I just hate seeing wonky park photos. Especially shared on official mtn pages :(

It bothers the shit out of me when mountains have a park crew, full of people that ride park, but everything is setup terribly. It's one thing if it's a jump where a cat is pretty much required to make them, but there is no excuse for bad rail lips.
A lot of lazy park crew dudes still out there.

Yeah, some people take to it, some people dont. I've heard a lot of people running parks now trying to get younger day staff to do work. I get the obvious "back in my day" thing but seems like it kind of is. There are still people killing it and working hard but seems like its harder to find them.

It's crazy what one motivated person woth a rake can do in a day, or definitely in a season. It doesn't take as much as it could but some people don't understand, dont want to put in the work or both.

That's what I was happy about some of the small ass mtns I worked at in the Northeast. Nobody might have heard of them or seen our shit but things were clean even with few resources. It's cool to think about looking back.

I do likedoing everything in a cat now basically. Keeps you on your toes and staying decent in a machine. It's funny how much work I did with a shovel and a rake back in the day, or not a rake sometimes. Now doing the opposite and giving people minimal stuff to rake.

I don't mind it actually. I do wish they understood sometimes when they complain about some small detail. But it is cool to be held to a high standard.

As long as i can bump music and podcasts and build shit Im down. Fuck it

sounds pessimistic bro. there’s so many good schools out there if you didn’t row and perhaps not rowing would allow you to network more and make connections that could positively impact your future and dial in on your studies, etc

or you keep rowing and focus on the discipline that brought you there. idk. youre young and have some pretty significant advantages compared to others your age. find what gets your spark going and go all in on it. just don’t drop out and work shit jobs in your hometown. that’s a fuckin trap. most everyone i know who did that is a fuckin loser in life aside from one who inherited money and started a landscaping/construction company with the money. he’s doing well lol.

or you keep rowing and focus on the discipline that brought you there. idk. youre young and have some pretty significant advantages compared to others your age. find what gets your spark going and go all in on it. just don’t drop out and work shit jobs in your hometown. that’s a fuckin trap. most everyone i know who did that is a fuckin loser in life aside from one who inherited money and started a landscaping/construction company with the money. he’s doing well lol.


i’m doing a lot better academically this semester like a 3.4-5 average prolly. But I KNOW, i’m capable of more if I didn’t spend 2-5 hours a day dedicated to rowing. Everyone says being a division 1 rower, especially with above a 3.5 is like a guarantee grad school acceptance anywhere, but I’m doubtful.
I’ve not been enjoying the sport lately, and been very frustrated with it. I dread practice, and wish I could spend time with people outside the team. My parents think if that’s the case I should quit, but I don’t think that’s right. I committed to something and I’d feel like a failure if I quit, I’d much rather be cut and atleast say I tried to hold on as long as I could.
It’s just a lot rn to spend so much time on something with such little results, when there’s other things to apply myself too. Sure I could choose and easier major, but I enjoy what I do, and unfortunately it means anytime not spent rowing lately has been in the books or the labs. IDK i’m ready for this semester to end and to get a well needed break

I really hate this school and honestly this town and wanna go to msu. But I low key pay >2k a semester here and msu id have to pay out of state tuition which I think is 15x the price which I obviously can’t afford.

i also have zero interest in my degree whatsoever but im 2 years in now so we ball.

Dont get me wrong Durango is a nice place but there really can be nothing to do especially at the school. I’ve also burned most bridges with the friends I had just by being depressed the last few months.

My one homie who has held it down recently and got me off my ass the last couple weeks to ski silverton and backcountry lines and purg parks is transferring, now idk what to do

A ton of my ski homies from back home go to msu. I can still fight fire over the summer in montana , and not to mention Bridger bowl is right around the corner. I think there’s a western exchange program I might look into
