Non_State_ActorSome tickets are expensive yes but the really fucked part is charging a $40 fee per ticket for hosting an e-commerce website where they don't even have to fulfill anything. They used to print and mail actual tickets.


A large part of those "fees" goes to the artists performing. Bands/singers don't want to be seen as ripping off their fans so they publish a low ticket cost and make up the difference through fees so ticketmaster seems like the bad guy

This is not meant to defend ticketmaster. I firmly believe that the price listed should be the price you pay (for almost everything)

this is entirely wrong lol. the ticket price goes to the artist and promoters. the fees go to the venue and the ticket provider. artists do not get any of the fees. at least thats what the ticketmaster website claims.

i don’t get why businesses always need to grow. like we come off a record breaking year for visits and revenue and the next years targets are significantly higher. i get not staying stagnant. to me a refresh of services seems better than growth. why can’t we have a business model focused on longevity and sustainable revenue targets. vail just announced going from their centalized HR in Broomfield which was absolute dog shit to an even worse model of outsourced hr in an effort to save millons on labor. shareholders are gonna be stoked but employees are not. they are already in a shitty spot with employees with a slew of union strikes, employee walk outs, etc. now let’s make the hr team call centers in pakistan?! they aren’t going to have a single clue how the operation works, how the culture interacts, etc. i can only imagine a J1 who barely speaks english talking to someone in a call centers in india that barely speaks english and them having major miscommunications and the J1 get deported from it. but hey, god bless the shareholders am i right?! 🦅 💰 🇺🇸

Last Cinco de Mono I was mobbing skiers right of Chets dream all afternoon until they kicked me out after 4:00. Total hero slush bumps. Usually when I go to Loveland that stuff seems closed off but they were letting us send it all the way to the lot and we were ending up behind the maintenance building down there. Super fun

The idea that the company is going to grow and increase in value is sold to investors. Driving this philosophy like a runaway train with no end to the track seems like the trend and even the expectation if the company is publicly traded

Yeah I always looked up at that terrain from the lot and then last May it was all open. Looking at the map it was over the Rainbow and Avalanche Bowl and Zoom and all of that stuff. Hooking back under the lift to ski back to the chair was less work but a couple times we skied lines all the way down and had to boot it back. Super fun set up at LoveLand with the tailgate party right by the snow. One of my favorites ski areas for sure

That's ticketmaster straight up lying. Even if the money isn't going directly to the artists, it's being used to pay venue fees, which were previously covered by the ticket prices (and the artists paid venue rent themselves).
Additionally, the scalper problem is so bad because ticketmaster etc. sell a large number of tickets to scalpers at a higher price than face value, or just save them to post on their partnered resale platforms.
Free market value of a $100 ticket might be well over $200, but the performers don't want the bad PR from that. So ticketmaster "resells" some of the tickets for $150 and adds $50 in fees to bridge that gap

So i got a letter saying my car insurance is being cancelled. turns out there might be a glitch in the system and i am being charged twice for one infraction. It is being cancelled next week. I have 5 engineering exams next week

Bought a driving record from service ontario right now, didnt get it to my email. Went on the phone, and now I have currently been transferred 5 fucking times.

I should be studying rn but nope, no service in my room so i gotta be on the phone away from work while on hold so the next governement call agent can transfer me again.

Words cannot express how fucked we are in public health for the future. absolute insanity is occurring at the moment and it is wild to watch. Federal labs are being completely dismantled on a whim. Literally lab techs are being locked out of their computers, and buildings without even time to clean up. Biohazards and samples are everywhere. Nobody is around to inform states and localities to cease sending labs, so we have samples piling up with nowhere to go.

Many states and lab facilities have no option for testing outside of these fed labs. We have no clue what to do and had zero warning. Labs include STI's, HIV, and Hepatitis. Gone, with zero warning or secondary options.




Along with this, DEI is no longer allowed for federal grants and research. What does that include?? Well, you can no longer receive funding if you mention trans, or other LGBTQ things. Along with this, you can no longer mention other things to include:

Female
Disability
Socio-Economic
Bias
Climate Change
Covid
China
Vaccines



OR any project that the HHS director feels should not be funded. Thats right - RFKJ now has complete control over federal dollars for research and can remove your funding because he feels like it. That should terrify absolutely everyone.

Also yes, that is correct - from what i know you can not even mention these words in your study. Your study can no longer mention females. What the fuck

ticketmaster makes my blood boil, there’s always some bottom of the barrel humans that find ways to make profit in the worst ways. the midsize venue is now a dying breed and anyone operating something bigger than that is outcompeted by ticketmaster. i would piss and shit gladly on the founders of ticketmaster’s graves. you used to be able to see the beatles in a stadium for the equivalent of $50 fucking dollars. don’t even get me started on how fucked festivals are now.

they reactivated my facebook, logged into nextdoor to change the email, changed the email on my walmart account and spent $31 on the apple store and changed the email on my pinkbike. also some old video game accounts through rockstar and ubisoft that i dont use. all shit i dont use but like wtf?! took me like 3 hours to redial things in. 90% sure its a russian that got my password.

she really asked to meet my mom, went on lunch dates with my parents while i was at school. My parents let her borrow my car so she could come to formal and spend a weekend with me. Bought me books and we’d send each other post cards. I went home to spend a weekend with her. We’d talk all the time and then she ghosts me for a week. Finally calls me sobbing because she feels guilty about not speaking with me or staying in touch over the fact she was scared of the idea of having a healthy relationship even tho we’ve both never been a fan of labels or even had one. So utterly confused rn. I’m not even mad just sorta lost.

Ig i can/should cut her some slack tho cause her parents are Pakistani immigrants (dads a doctor and moms mentally ill) and have been god awful to her, even cut her off since she wouldn’t stay home to care for her mom while her older and sister got to go to UChicago. but even still she was a really good communicator for the most part, something seemed to click between us and things sorta just crumbled. Just frustrating ig. Oh well, morning practice at 6:00 tmr 🤷🏼‍♂️

oh it was on my old hotmail account that has had the same password every since they started requiring numbers and symbols and capitalization is passwords. so for all i know they got my password from myspace lol. i actually opted to not tell my work about the supposed videos lol

I think this is a universal experience as an engineering student. No matter how hard you work there are others who do so much better somehow. The effort input vs grade result is exponential. Getting an A is 4x the work of getting a B which is 2x the work of getting a C.

Finally got it with the tab button justhitting the roght number then enter. Was so hyped when it was done but damn, that was a process.
