BallClapperWhere you work and where you wanna be?
im at a ski resort and i wanna be at a ski resort lol. but open to leaving the ski industry
someone retired so i proposed a merger of 2 departments and created a structure and a vision for that structure. we aligned on my vision and created that position. part of the job description was even my writing. i’ve driven extremely strong results and created numerous things that went Alterra wide to all 17 resorts and even created trainings sent to ever employee at all resorts. i also have a strong leadship background from leading teams of 15 to leading teams of 120+ all with strong performing metrics.
so i was pretty invested in this promotion and someone else got the role. they’re deserving for sure and he’s a good guy but i feel like my efforts are not being rewarded. kinda feels like they said why promote a high performing employee and backfill when we could have 2 high performing employees. maybe im over valuing myself but idk. also, my role is not a role that people are excited to see so its hard to establish a sense of community at work. thats new for me and i fuckin hate it. having a team structure would have made that much better i think but its not gonna happen. also our town is way smaller than some other ski towns and when i came in i was in quite a difficult spot mentally so i have like no friends locally and that shit also sucks.
so im looking at jobs that pay 15%+ and will gladly leave for the right opportunity. i just applied to be a team operation manager for a womens soccer team in san diego lmao.
things are fine really and i have a good role with good pay and great work life balance (today was day 25 skiing) but i am ambitious in growing my career
